I have a '76 johnson seahorse 35 horsepwr. outboard w/ electric start. The starter engages, but doesn't spin fast enough to start the motor. I purchased a new deep cycle battery and checked and cleaned all connections. Is the starter bad? Is it an expensive fix? Thanx for your time in advance....
ETRASHER gave this response on 5/14/2000:
sounds like a bad starter.the problem will be trying to find another starter.
sayler2b asked this follow-up question on 5/14/2000:
why? don't they carry parts for this thing anymore?
ETRASHER gave this response on 5/20/2000:
they are only required to stock parts for 10 years.an older marina may still carry the starter in their parts.
