Hello, I am going to acquire a motor-boat, and need some first-time orientation about it. Could you please give me an introduction of what inexpensive manners exist to get a small boat (1-2 persons) faring at speeds of around 60km/h! Also, how powerful needs to be the engine? What have to be done for getting a faring-licence?
Thanks in advance for the answer!

THANKS FOR THE QUESTION: YOU WILL HAVE TO GO LOOK FOR THE TYPE OF BOAT THAT SUITS YOUR NEEDS , AS FAR AS, FISHING TO PLEASURE, FOR WHAT KIND OF WATER AND CONDITIONS YOU WILL MAINLY BE USING THE BOAT IN, MANY VARATIONS OF BOATS AND HULLS. THE QUESTION OF HOW POWERFUL, PUT THE BIGEST ENGINE THAT IS RECOMENDED FOR THE BOAT. REASON BE THAT YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO RUN YOUR ENGINE WIDE OPEN ALL OF THE TIME TO GET THE SPEED YOUR LOOKING FOR. EXAMPLE 40HP MIN. TO 75HP MAX. THE 40 WILL HAVE TO BE RUN AT WIDE OPEN THROTTLE TO DO 35 MILES PER HR ,,,,,COMPARE TO THE 75 HP ENGINE YOU WIL ONLY HAVE TO RUN AT HALF THROTTLE TO ACHIEVE THAT 35MPH AND NOT HAVE TO RUN THE ENGINE AS HARD THERE FOR YOUR ENGINE LIFE WILL INCREASE. THE EXPENSE OF A BOAT ABOUT 16 FOOT LONG (BOW RIDER) IS AROUND 10-18 THOUSAND DOLLARS..FOR PLEASURE......FISHING AND PREFORMANCE BOATS CAN RANG FROM 18-40 THOUSAND DOLLARS. I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT A FARING LICENSE BUT I WILLCHECK ON IT , WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED IN THE WORLD AND I CAN CHECK ON IT. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOUR PURPOSE OF HAVING A BOAT IS AND I CAN HELP YOU DECIDE THE RIGHT BOAT FOR YOU . THANKS BRETT

Thanks for the answer! I'm in the Netherlands EU. I will go on inland water trips, mostly for slow waters. It's mainly for the transport from place to place. That is from home to a camping site. Or from a camping site to a camping site. What's a price range of a 30-40HP engine? And that of a simplest rubberboat that can carry such an engine?
I want to get the boat within one month, and want just a simplest working variant. I'm a beginner, you see... Later on I will progress to a better boat.

well a rubber raft is much different than what i was expecting,,,,lol,,, well their not cheap but you will only need a small engine such as a 10 - 15 hp maybe 20hp depending on the type and length the engine will run you ex. yamaha 15hp around 1500.00 too 2,800.00 dollars that also depends on where you buy it...well good luck on your journey in boating....

Thank you, how quick should it go with such an engine?
btdockside gave this response on 5/8/2000:
speed all depends on the amount of weight in the boat,i have a customer that has a 40 yamaha and its all you can do to keep it in the water....he transports people from the ocean after parasailing, its very fast,,its scary i think his boat is 16 im not for sure..but plenty of power and light weight good on fuel
