Do the disadvantages of the jury system outweigh the advantages? Or not? It has both good and bad factors, and I cant decide. Thanks

In my opinion there is a tie between the advantages and disadvantages of jury trial at the present time. With increased media review of court cases and increased news coverage, attorneys for either side, and judges, are aware that not only are jurors more educated and less malleable to manipulation, but their performance in the pursuit of "justice" is no longer hidden in an out of the way or crowded court. More people are seeing them at work and are making judgements, that relate to their being re-elected or hired. The more open the court system, the more astute the jurors, the more interested and involved the public, the more honest will be the trial eventually.
