Hi..I was reading about you, and i do have to say i am quite impressed with all of your qualifications. I will also be graduating from a 4 year school with a criminal justice degree. what's my next step after that to get involved? I want to do investigating work...hopefully for the FBI someday. I am willing to do whatever it takes, but i just dont know how. Should I try to get into an academy as my first step? I am really confused and worried. But I am determined to do this. Will being a girl have any consequences in this field? thanks

I think I just answered another question from you about a similar topic but here is some additional information:
Find out what the exact requirements are to get into the F.B.I. if that is where you want to end up in your career. I think their web site is:
http://www.fbi.gov
However if you apply out of college and don't get accepted, keep working at it. I would get a local or State law enforcement job and continue to apply for the Federal job. Eventually, there is a good chance they will take you if you do fine work even as a patrol officer or sheriff's deputy. Try to gain experience with the investigations unit at your department and you may find that satisfying enough not to worry so much about a position with the F.B.I. A "regular" police detective is one of the most interesting and challenging jobs in the world.
Well between the two responses I hope this helps and good luck!
