What are computer crimes? What are 3 examples of computer crimes? Can You tell me about safety and security on the net e.g. password encryption programs etc.? Do you know what the penalties for computer crimes are?

Well with computer crimes they differ, however there is usually one standard. Aperson commits an offense if a person knowingly accesses a computer, computer network, or computer system without the effective consent of the owner. some examples are, but not limited to: 1.intentionally giving a password, code, or identifying number. 2.entering a major database without consent of the owner (F.B.I. example) Federal Offense 3.Intentionally posting illegal pornography involving minors/juveniles. As for security and safety, the best way is to have browser updated to the latest version and obtain a "firewall" software. Firewall software can be downloaded at major computer sites such as www.cnet.com or www.zdnet.com the penaltys vary in charges, but I can tell you, you wont recieve a ticket if your busted, you would go to jail. The minimum charge is a Class b which involves Jail time and a fine. You can reach all the way up to the Felonys if someone is hurt or injured resulting in your crime. (I.E. Disabling computers used to moniter heartbeats and breathing apparatuses in hospital patients) Hope I helped. Ed
