Do you loose your gun card(Illinois) automatically if convicted of domestic violence and how long if so, can you get it back?
Paul157 asked for clarification on 3/20/2000: Are you talking about a concealed weapons permit? If your not, please explain. Are you refering to a felony charge and conviction? Is there a order of protection involved?

I know of no law that requires you to give up your firearms due to a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction. I know of no laws that require you to give up a "gun card" as you call it.
I do know of laws that prevent you from possessing firearms while orders of protection are in place. I have seen conditions of bond that stipulate that the defendant must not possess firearms.
