I am sure my ex-husbands current wife has used my SSN for many things, including turning off my utilities, phone etc. This woman has had it in for me since she met my ex. I have gone to jail under false accusations. She is stalking me,and harrassing me.I am not afraid of physical violence.Although she works for a Sherrifs Dept. She is ruining my life.she seems to know what to do without getting caught. How do I prove this is really happening?

If your ex-husbands wife is using your SSN then she is committing fraud.. and also violating Federal Law. If she is using the SSN then go to the Social Security Administration and report it officially.. they even have the power to change your SSN if that is happening. The SSA will investigate any illegal uses of your SSN also. As for stalking you... many states have laws against stalking.. if that is truly what it is... it must be clearly defined. Most people who do this kind of thing... especially ones associated with Law Enforcement, know the boundaries that they can't cross... and stick to them... right inside the boundary of their activities being illegal. I would suggest a number of things. Begin keeping a log of things you KNOW she has done.. dates and times. Also I don't know where you live.. but you may think about recording all your phone conversations.. and collect as much evidence as you can. If you have any corraboration then I would contact her employer ( if it is a Sheriff's Office ) and make a formal complaint. And follow up on it to MAKE sure that they investigate. I would also consider hiring a Private investigator to gather evidence for you too. The thing to keep in mind is not to allow yourself to get so frustrated that you take the law into your own hands. Give the system a chance to work. If there is any more I can help with, please ask.
