starkicker3 asked this question on 3/6/2000:
How do parents play a role in gun control?
Paul157 gave this response on 3/8/2000:
I think the biggest role a parent can play is as educator. Safety guards on guns is a good start. Safety guards by themselves would be like handing a box of condoms to a young man and expecting him to respect sex.
Seek out your local law enforcment officials for answers. If they don't have any, suggest they need some. You are looking for instructors that are willing to teach gun safety to children. You are looking for classes taught to youths that want to get hunting licenses.
If you are looking to change gun control laws, seek out your mayor, legislator, or senator.
