I am doing a study on why many of todays youth turn to to crime. ie the causal factors. Could you give me an answer to this question or suggest some web sites that may be of use
blue_eyes_33 gave this response on 2/12/2000:
Conal, Juveniles turn to crime for several different reason.A lot are from the innnercity where they go out aand steal to get what they waant and sometimes their parents or a family member tell them to go steal for them. Then therre is peer pressure for them to join gangs or they will be jumped and may even be killed if they don`t join up. They is very true in California. Some teens commit crime because they are bored. Mostly the studies show that if they have a close realive that is in prison or has been in prison within the last five years they are twice as more likely to commit crimes. The most prevalient crimes that juveniles commit are burglary, arson, and shop lifting. the most interesting thing is that juveniles from "good" homes are committing crimes to get attention andd not because they need to do it to survive. There are some good websites on Juvenile crime you may want to look at as well. Try juvenile delinquecy or just juvenile crime. Sorry it took so long for me to answer your question I have been sick. If you need anymore help just let me know, Good luck.
