When movies first came out, there was fear that people would start
behaving unacceptably if they were to see unacceptable things on the
silver screen. So media did studies to find out if this would be true.
It was found that most people watch movies in groups and they talk about
what actors did on the screen both during and after the movie. So any
urge people would have to imitate what they saw strangers doing on the
screen becomes nullified by talking it out with people they trust. This
"talking it out" serves as a natural buffer between thought and action.
The 3rd Party Rule in Scientology is designed to bypass this natural
buffer. The 3rd Party Rule effectively keeps people from talking with
people they trust behind the backs of people they don't trust. Thus it
aids Scientology in having people blindly imitate what they are told by
Scientology's untrustworthy mass media without talking it over first in a
social, common-sensical manner.
This is one way Scientology acts in an anti-social manner.
