Who will be the next Lisa McPherson and end up dead from Scientology quackery and depraved indifference? It could have been the 49 year old Los Angeles woman described in the Scientology emails below.
She's an OT 5, and yet she's "PTS III" as the Scientologists say. A PTS type III is someone who is completely psychotic or nutball crazy. Jeremy Perkins was type III per the tech. Why do so many OT Scientologists have mental breakdowns? I think Tory is right: the OT levels aren't just junk; they're actually *harmful* to mental health.
If anyone knows what happened to this Type III case, please drop me a line. I wonder if she's still alive. Did she sign a Lisa Clause form?

Subject: Correct phone number/email: Requesting donations for a distraught pc
I am posting this email on behalf of a couple of VM's who have been working very hard to help a Scientologist woman who has a borderline Type III condition. She has been unable to sleep more than an hour a night for almost three months. She has developed difficulties eating and is distraught to the point where it is difficult for her to receive assists and locationals or even leave the house. On top of this, she has not been able to work and she and her husband are quite broke.
After a lot of footwork and brainstorming, the two VM's have located an environment where this pc can go and destimulate. The VM's also now have an auditor and naturopathic doctor working together who are certain they can help this pc but money is needed to pay for the medical handling as well as the pc's stay in this new environment.
A few donations thus far have covered the bills for a number of medical visits. There is enough money remaining to pay for one week in the new environment with the auditor attending. However, to continue the program for (possibly) several weeks (at $250 per week), Sue Hall, VM, is asking for donations. She needs $475 immediately to start the pc on the naturopath's treatment. She writes: "I hate to ask but imagine not sleeping for that long!!! It ain't fun and it's not pretty to see! Any amount will help." Send to Sue Hall, 4274 Caledonia Way, Los Angeles, CA 90065. This is positively frightening to read about. It scares me that these idiots think some half-educated mystic naturopath can actually do any good. Puleeeeeze This woman needs IMMEDIATE MEDICAL intervention before she dies like Lisa did - for f**k's sake what is wrong with these people that they cannot even SEE what is happening right in front of them and do nothing. VM's?? with NO medical training at all and their useless poke poke tech and a naturopath who has no friggin clue about anything but magical nostrums and snake oil. I sincerely hope SOMEONE had the guts to put this woman in a hospital where she has a chance of a real life. What a friggin waste of humanity hubbard was and his tech is abusive, hatefilled with absolutely no redeeming value whatsoever.
And hey schwarzie - I believe in a human spirit just not the made up gobbledy gook that hubbard pulled out of his ass.

Here is a brief phenomenological spin on schizophrenic psychosis. I'm aware that many prefer their explanations couched in the language of the harder sciences such as biology, chemistry and medicine, but I think this angle of understanding also has considerable value
With the gradual retreat from real life one substitutes a self-subsistent fantasy world of pure possibility temporarily enabling feelings of omnipotence and immortality.[1] The pursuit of perfect security and unlimited possibility, the disdain of limits, ultimately grounded in one's perishable body, and the aversion to contrariness and otherness can reach dangerous extremes. In particular instances this provides fertile ground for the eruption of schizophrenic psychosis. Briefly recalling Mead and Kierkegaard, the psyche spans two modes of existence: one active ("I"), symbolic, ideal, embracing infinity; the other passive ("me"), bodily/perishable and finite. Over time the arduous Scientology regimens may promote a person's divorce from bodily awareness, the very locus and grounding of the self. Compensating this loss one necessarily and radically partializes the active "I" pole of the self, the domain of symbolism and pure possibility. This comes at the expense of sacrificing the perishable animal dimension of self with its physical powers and capacity for housing the psyche in the real world. The quest for perfect certainty eventually may result in one's own body becoming foreign or other to oneself at which point one no longer feels securely grounded. In extreme cases one relates to it with the same sort of loathing or disgust as one regards a recent expulsion of feces or phlegm. Its animal perishability starkly and shamefully represents an Achilles Heel, a point of naked exposure to the dangers of the world and thus a reminder of death, the catastrophic hurtling of the self into insignificance.[2]
One transforms into a shell losing tangible connection to the world and
others because of the loss of contact to sensations and emotions located
within the body, the only real link to that residing outside the psyche. As
mentioned earlier, ego boundaries reside in bodily facticity. A strong ego
has a self-assured bodily sense of limitation founded upon an awareness of
physical boundaries and remains in constant contact with emotions and
sensations that remain bodily rooted. Scientology actively encourages
episodes of dissociation ("exteriorization") as this signals an erosion of
bodily communication. It indicates that the "preclear" is progressing on
schedule to a rendezvous with abject servitude because loss of connection
with one's own body enables it to become a passive object more easily
controlled by others.
The gradual dissolution of bodily awareness occludes the essential limit
between oneself and the world. This occasions losing the unity of experience
with its attendant damage to resolute selfhood and personal freedom. Freedom
requires resistance and struggle within the context of bodily limits to
recognize itself. With the loss of bodily boundaries, a person becomes
simply an inert container for thoughts. The aloofness of these thoughts from
grounded contact deprives them of lived contextual sense. This eclipse of
somatic awareness opens the floodgates for an overwhelming and paralyzing
vortex of symbols and images engulfing any stable sense of selfhood. I
believe this occurred to Lisa McPherson as well as to hundreds of other
Scientologists over the years. Here we witness the onset of psychosis, the
cruel reality of "total freedom." One loses control over the flood of
symbols and images because it requires a felt bodily rootedness within the
world to mediate the free-floating imagination. With the constitutional
unmooring of the active "I" pole of symbolic imagination from its bodily
anchorage, one becomes orphaned within the schizophrenic nightmare, enslaved
by an onslaught of disembodied thought over which one loses all natural
means of control.
Scientology vividly illustrates the limits of dogmatism, the ultimate
tragedy of hubris, its dangerous disavowal of limits, and possible
consequences resulting from a reckless pursuit of perfect certainty and
security. L Ron Hubbard specifically designed the panoply of Scientology
techniques, drills and processes to promote masochistic docility. However,
he also discovered that pushing the "tech" too far induced psychosis in
certain individuals, a drawback from Hubbard's calculative point of view
since schizophrenics are conspicuously unproductive and lead to increased
public scrutiny of the Scientology project. The end of the quest for total
freedom paradoxically results with the collapse into total slavery. Even one's
own thoughts remain beyond control, trapped within an inert and disavowed
creaturely body, a body that one desperately needs to reanimate and with
which to vitally reconnect in order to retrieve the soul.

At this point, to seek a naturopath usually means they're at the end of rational choice in a vulnerable situation. Medical handling? Must be the vitamins and hair sample.
This is a prime example of someone who needs help. By real world standards, this is considered abuse by not seeking emergent medical and mental health help for someone who really needs it. It merits a complaint to a state agency with supportive information about the past history and consequences of unwillingness to help people in a vulnerable state.
Sad state of affairs as these are the types of agencies that the CCHR attack, and most recently with the parental rights issues. And of course what adult member is willing to make a complaint about not receiving mental health help? This is also another reason why they are trained to hate psychs, as what type of mental condition would they find such a person in, the equivelent of PTS III? No doubt a disturbed one that Scientology tech will have contributed to, and ultimately only make worse.

Seems as I read the events involving the OT's the higher they go up the bridge the more dangerous the effect of the Hubbard tech on the "true believer". For this poor lady to be in the hands of VM's (also boggled by the tech) is so sad. I think it is well known that the Cult here at Golden Era have a place a few miles away from the base they refer to as the "baby house". This is where they take PTS111 s so if they die from this lack of care the Base address is not on the death certificate. How little we know just how many poor OT's have been unable to withstand the auditing and overdoses of vitamins and the care by untrained VM's with their "touchy feely" treatment which is worthless .
I find it hard to believe here in America that a bogus religion can protect these people from practicing medicine without license. Hair dressers have far more restrictions on operating their business than this bogus outfit who takes innocent people -"looking for a better way" and destroys their lives. The book The Mind Alive by Henry & Bonar Overstreet has spelled out a lot of the problems with LRH's bogus tech. (from chapt 11)
When Metal Health is Threatened That which promotes psychic health and the full vital aliveness of the mind deserves support.=A0 That which undermines such health-encouraging fixation, regression, perennial immaturity, and blockages of relationship between the individual and his environment-is suspect .
Ida
"It would be interesting to observe what would happen, if a large number of psychotics with similar psychoses were allowerd to create a little world of their own. If they could remain completely isolated from the rest=A0 of humanity for a considerable length of time, it is not inconceivable that they would begin to agree in some respects on their reality and would actually create a different system of reality from the one which has been developed by the rest of mankind."=A0 LRH "The Route to Infinity Course" .
