Suicide Tony Stevenson, Melbourne, Australia
About 20 odd years ago, Tony Stevenson got involved with
Scientology, and started living with Lynn Dean who was
already a member.
Tony was a wonderful guy and quite a forward thinker, but unfortunately suffered from (what we would now call) bi-polar disorder - when he was good he was great, but he suffered from depression at other times. He had a good business (and shop) designing and selling 'alternative technology' stuff like wind power generators, greenhouses, seeds, mud brick presses, etc.
They (the Church of Scientology) got him 'hook, line and sinker'. Tony and Lynn married and had a child (Tara), and Lynn started 'managing' the business. She eventually brought it to complete financial ruin - by promising customers all sorts of thing but never delivering, and generally mis-managing the whole thing. Typically, she was always blaming "Suppressive Persons" for their problems.
I know that Tony and the business was seriously in debt, and I know that much of the money was spent on scientology courses. His depression increased dramatically. Tony Stevenson then suicided by carbon monoxide poisoning.

Now, 20 years later, I see (via the internet search engines) that Lynn Dean is still an active member of the CoS. I am curious to know how she can remain with the CoS, knowing that it is all a crock of shit. I also wonder how her poor child Tara (who would be 21 now) is coping with the knowledge that the Church of Scientology is (in my humble opinion) largely responsible for her father's suicide. ---------------------------------------------------------
