I did something else in Riverside County on Tue, April 17, the day the trial started. More details later. I can't make a perfect claim to being the cause <grin> but I will note that my channel into the Riverside DA's office tells me that exactly *one week* later on April 24, the Riverside DA finally filed charges against the driver of the front loader that killed Ashlee Shaner on May 17 of last year. He is to be arraigned May 9, 2001. Had this been delayed only another 9 days, I understand charges could no longer have been brought. The information which comes out in the criminal case will be of considerable use in the civil case a certain source of information tells me has been recently filed. (Can someone in the area get a case number?) Incidentally, I don't have much ill will toward the front loader driver, Thomas Joseph Nove. His "crime" was mainly in not standing up to the Sea Org construction bosses who insisted both that they finish paving that day and that they move the paving machine and front loader out of (*)'s view in the dark at considerable risk to other drivers on the dark road. Since charges have been filed, I think the accident report I have had for most of a year now becomes public. A few people had a scanned version. Someone can web those or ask me to find scans or make scans. Between this, the excellent news story about the trial, and getting Frank Oliver's OSA materials made part of the record in my case, I would say the last two weeks have been better than a wash for the things I care about and not much of a "win" for scientology. Progress! Keith Henson
