Here's an exerpt from the report I received from Cox today.
Ms. Graham, following is my account of the call involving an individual
that
appeared to be posing as a Cox Employee to gain information about your
acct:
The individual identified himself as Mike Hendrikson or Henrikson and
gave a
"tech number" saying he was an outside tech for Cox. He was supposedly
outside your address and wanted to check what services you had because
someone had tapped into your service and was stealing some of our
services.
He said he needed to contact you to let you know you would be
experiencing a
short outage while he disconnected the illegal cable. He supplied the
address and I supplied your name and phone #.
Something made me feel uncomfortable about the call so I immediately
alerted
my supervisor who had me forward the information to Karen, who then
called
you.
I can't imagine the call lasted any more than one minute occurring just
after noon on Wednesday the 4th of April.
