It's funny. "Reverend" Carmichael repeatedly disgorges misleading and false data, and expects nobody to question it because of the "Reverend" tag before his name.

Happily, he didn't try to describe Hubbard as a war hero or doctor, as Scientology's website claims. These lies are too easily refuted, since Hubbard dropped out of college and purchased a degree from a diploma mill. The Navy also has records of Hubbard's service, which is remarkably different from the claims on Scientology's website. He was far from a war hero.

The Scientology organization often spawns front groups which purport to deal with social problems. They then piggyback on legitimate groups to try and enhance their own dubious image.

Take Narconon, for example. Their educational outreach program was reviewed by a panel of qualified medical personnel, and discarded as junk science, inaccurate, and misleading. The program subsequently was expelled from public schools in California, Hawaii, and Boston.

The New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project was recently exposed as a dangerously flawed, useless practice which received $650,000 in public money from the hoodwinked New York councilwoman, Margarita Lopez.

Scientology's other front groups are similarly ineffective, serving only to garner good public relations and funding from public agencies.

Anyone with computer access can do a little research with Google and see for themselves whether Scientology is a social betterment group or, as Stan March said on South Park, "A big, fat, global scam!"
