It's true! I had a Big Win yesterday, and I simply can't wait to tell
you about it! I was sitting at my computer, see, and having a hard time
of it after polishing off a liter of coffee from my new, Big Thetan Gulp
sized mug, so I thought it would be a good idea to go out front and
water the plants, all of which are legal in these parts. While I was
watering the ficus, I heard a sort of sandy, rolly noise coming down the
hill. I looked up, and it was a kid on one of those Razor scooters that
are all the rage now and, I might add, already responsible for 70,000
head injuries. Then the 'thumpa thumpa thumpa' of a heavy bass beat
kicked in from a speeding black Honda civic headed toward the
intersection. With my highly developed ability to see when things will
intersect at what speed, honed from millions of years of hurling rocks
at moving objects, I could see that the kid on the scooter was going to
be transformed into a hood ornament in about 2.5 seconds. I was riveted,
there was no time to do anything, not even squawk out a warning! I was
literally frozen, I was watching this and seriously not wanting it to
happen! The only thing that could save this kid from being plastered to
the front of the speeding Honda would be some sort of intervention.
Suddenly, and for no apparent reason (except hitting a stone in the
road) the kid went arse over tip just before he entered the
intersection! He went down hard, whacked the curb, and started howling
as the Honda sped off, unbloodied.
Those Not Wanting Something To Happen beams are really powerful, and you
SPs who have them should really be careful and pay close attention at
all times to keep them under control!
I was wondering how much help I was required to render, having saved the
kid's life and all, I mean is it really necessary for me to go dab his
road rash and pick out the gravel? He solved that problem for me; when
no one responded to his howls, he scooped up his deadly Razor and ran
home.
Now, you may all just poo-poo this as coincidence, but I was there! I
did that! Me! Even if I didn't knock him off that scooter in the nick of
time with my SP Powerzz<tm> I don't remember seeing that rock in the
road before.
This is true, by which I mean, it's entirely possible that there is a
remote chance that it could be.
