An update on the week, for those who might be interested. For me, much calmer than the previous 2 weeks. I called the Pinellas state attorney's office, they still don't have my battery complaint against Dennis Heath Clark, but they do have one against him a few case numbers before mine, which might be the complaint others filed from the Sunday prior...I put in a call Friday to the "victim's advocate" at the CWPD, have not heard back, I just want to be sure this doesn't slip thru any cracks. I will post as soon as I have some sort of answer. FYI: The Church of Scientology has a permit for a space on the Franklin Street mall in downtown Tampa, FL, they set up a table on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am to 2 pm. It is in front of the Eckerds, near the Tampa Police station. They offer their "stress test" and attempt to route in raw meat. If you go down there, they will try to get the police to tell you that you need a permit in order to "counter" their actions by handing out fliers, but research has proven that in fact you do NOT need a permit if you only hand out fliers (permit is needed if you set up a table). So if they try to lie to the police be sure to point this out, and tell the police to call the Tampa parks dept. Franklin Street mall management for clarification. All that is required is that you do not infringe on their space (where the table is set up). And in the best news of all, I have been informed that there is a benefit concert planned for the Lisa McPherson Trust, organized by local (Tampa Bay area) musicians. It is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2000 at a Clearwater, FL venue (location to be announced at a later date). This benefit will feature area and regional musical acts, as well as video presentations and speeches by cult experts, former Scientologists, and others. More info on this event will be posted very soon! M
