The following is a message I sent to the Sci-Fi central webmaster, informing him of the recent ballot-box stuffing that has been going on there. Go and see for yourself at http://www.scifi-central.com Message: Your ballot box is being stuffed!
Greetings webmaster, my name is Matthew Becker. Perhaps I should explain how I cam across this information. I do not know if you keep track of the stats for your ballot box, but last Sunday afternoon I posted them on the usenet newsgroup known as Alt.Religion.Scientology. This newsgroup is a hotspot for conflict between the Church of Scientology and critics (such as myself) who oppose the church. My intent was merely to demonstrate that science-fiction lovers hate Battlefield Earth (A product of the supposed genius of the church's founder) Here is a transcript of my post.

The response was instanteous. Within one day the stats had risen from 0.2% to 7.8% overnight. Today, the stats for "What?
I love it!" overnight, have risen to 15.3 %. I know what you might be thinking, this guy is paranoid, Scientology wouldn't take time to stuff my web-poll. Within 48 hours a stat that was at 13 votes rose to what currently is 1127, an increase of 8600%. The other areas, such as "It's not that bad" which was at 33, rose by 5 votes to reach 38(+15%). Even the seemingly most popular choice, "Without a doubt it is..." rose only by a mere 156 votes to reach 6206 (+2.5%).
Compare the stats for yourself. An increase of 8600%, an increase of 15%, and an increase of 2.5%. In two days.
The Church of Scientology is not above web-warfare. It continually spams the newsgroup and is known to harass the users, trying to get their ISPs to cancel their accounts. I just thought you should know what is really happening with your poll. Expect the increase to continue until the results favour BE.

This is interesting, check it out. http://www.scifi-central.com In the past six hours the vote count for "Without a doubt it is" [the worst movie ever made]. The poll has skyrocketed from 6200 to 14362, while the "What? I loved it!" Remaind a constant 1379. The freaky thing is that these strange poll stat events have occured exactly after I pointed them out. When I pointed out how badly "What? I love it!" was being beaten, it skyrockted by 8600% in two days. When I pointed out that that was strange, and that the cult might be responsible, the increase ceased, and the "Without a doubt it is" began to skyrocket!
My interpretation? The cult is either trying to cover its ass up after being pointed out by decreasing the percentage back to normal, or else trying to make the other one larger in an attempt to make it look like the critics are doing the same thing they are. Strange.
These kind of stat jumps don't occur in random surfing votes.
These massive jumps in such a short span of time were orchastrated. I'm gonna keep an eye on this.
