The Beliefnet Scientology Topic on the Criticism MB concerned the subject of REGRETS. Here is the originating TOPIC MESSAGE: "I'd like to ask people who have left Scientology. I am not taking sides by the way. Do you wish you had never joined in the first place? How would your life now be different and/or better if you had not? Thanks."
Here is my deleted response:
"My brief flirtation with Scientology was in retrospect a necessary and sobering experience for someone not yet twenty years old. It helped to situate me on a road to maturity. Scientology taught me that the world contains many individuals who lie without conscience or remorse, who manipulate and take advantage of others with feigned impunity, who are sadistic and starkly view life in political terms of winners and losers, who worship money and power above anything else, and who are desperate to escape the oftentimes unwanted intrusiveness of reality and painful emotions by insulating themselves in a hermetically sealed artificial environment.
Scientology taught me the meaning of the word *creepy*.

And here is the personal email from BELIEFNET informing me of its deletion.
This post from "Ex-Scientologists" characterizes Scientologists as sadistic, manipulative, without conscience, creepy, etc. This is unacceptable on Beliefnet. Please refer to the Rules of Conduct for more information.
