Are you judging the bands simply by their names? Do you have ANY idea about what some of these musicians do in the community, what their music really sounds like, and what the purpose this event serves anyway? If these bands were doing a benefit for a cause such as child abuse prevention, would you be commenting that they reflect badly on that cause? Or would you applaud the musicians for being active in their community? Incidentally, that is the next cause that Mr. Scary Productions and many of the same bands plan to aid with a benefit concert. This is not a event that is presented by the Lisa McPherson Trust. It is an event organized and presented by area musicians, to benefit the Lisa McPherson Trust. So please get off the soapbox of how this might "reflect" on the folks at the LMT. It isn't their gig. A few of the folks from the trust have been asked to speak briefly between bands, and the LMT gets the proceeds. That is the extent of their involvement. This might be compared to the chairperson of some other charitable organization saying a few words of thanks at a benefit concert. The purpose of this event is to help to educate the community, and the musicians involved are doing what they know, inviting their fans and the community out to hear their ORIGINAL music and to learn about the true purpose of the Lisa McPherson Trust.
