Jamie was excellent this morning; Bubba is not easy to impress, but Jamie
was articulate and fairly well informed. Bubba actually asked Jamie to
return on Monday morning during prime time, and will open the phones to
questions. Bubba remarked on the air how impressed he was with Jamie, and
*begged* him to return on Monday. He also promoted the Lisa McPherson Trust
benefit.
Bubba made a good observation; that Jamie has nothing to gain by this - no
book he's promoting, etc. He also said that Scientologists were scary, and
not much seems to scare Bubba.
The station is WXTB 97.9 in the Tampa Bay area. I believe his show may be
syndicated.
Kudos to Jamie for being able to answer the questions and think quickly on
his feet so damn early in the morning!
If I might make a suggestion, it would be to focus less on Xenu and more on
the facts that a) Lisa's not the only bizarre death to occur in Scientology;
b) the *reasons* Scn can't register as a religion in other countries [it's a
bidniz!], and c) Scientology has NEVER paid local taxes since it arrived in
Clearwater; the religiosity fight went on for 20 years until the IRS finally
caved. A copy of the Washington Post's article about the leaked IRS
agreement might provide the necessary info, including the strange benefit of
being able to write off sending a kid to Scn school when a Catholic parent
can't write off taxes sending a kid to Catholic school. Also, the IRS is NOT
the arbitor of religiosity, although Co$ would like everyone to believe
that!
The money generated by Scn in Clearwater also goes uplines to LA, and does
not stay in the area.
GO, JAMIE!!!!!
