Yes, Bill Yaude has indeed, among his various and sundry other guises, posted here under his actual name. Those of you who have been here for a while might remember a poster called papeshow@earthlink.net (or papeshow@aol.com). That was Bill Yaude, or at least someone of the same name ;-) While he indeed posted as early as 1995 and in fact even perhaps prior to this, the first post of his in the archives is a veiled death threat to Diane Richardson. Of course he went on from there to other crimes including the worst attack on a newsgroup in Usenet history, a sporge storm consisting of dozens of individual criminal acts of fraud and theft by deception, taking out dozens of ISP accounts with the premeditated intent of breaching contract and spamming in violation of AUP. This is the level of honesty and integrity and "ethics" you can expect of a Scientology crime cultist, and indeed, this particular crime cultist, Bill Yaude, was asked by Tony Sidaway at the time:
"How long will it be, Papeshow, before they have you cancelling other users' posts?
"How long before you find yourself doing ever more sleazy things to uphold the religion you think is so powerful it will save this planet?"
And indeed, Yaude did indeed go from posting death threats and (as MikeSmith3@aol.com) often witty and intelligent articles, the best being those he wrote himself, to outright criminality and the lowest depths of perfidious attacks on the Internet and on free speech, in the form of a criminal forgery ring he conspired to create through millions of individual acts of wire fraud.
Dennis Erlich also reports that Yaude was at some point a hotshit Missionaire brought into other orgs for "heavy hussar" handling. My interpretation of this is that he would be brought into town with a group of Sea Ogres to give a Severe Reality Adjustment to orgs with crashed stats.
Even at this time, before his more serious crimes, Yaude is boasting about the raids on Internet critics, and laughing at the fact that even though they were utterly unconstitutional, his cult was able to defraud the court into allowing his crime cult to engage in extra-legal discovery with nothing to do with the alleged copyright cases.
Incidentally, it also appears that Yaude invented the tactic of harassing ISPs his cult doesn't like by sending out threat letters to Usenet servers of any kind whenever anyone, anywhere, posted the weird gibberish his cult worships.
He is a dedicated OSA Scientologist. That is to say, he is a hardened criminal.

Just don't expect to ever see it again. Past associations have resulted in most of the money in Larry's account.

The raids were a smashing success. FactNet and Arnies data have been in
the hands of investigators long enough for the damage to be done. If they
had been more careful they wouldn't have been "pantsed" in public.

Chronicle last week.

Dear Robert,
As you put it, "Is it ethical to trash someone's faith...?"
The newsgroup you wrote about is nothing more than a meeting place for an anti-Scientology hate group. From the safety behind their computer monitors a tiny fraction of net users type out their vicious attacks on this religion, often even hiding behind anonymous servers, as well. Can you imagine the amount of furor there would be, if these bigots were directing their attacks at Jewish or African Americans? The spewing of their hatred is no less reprehensible than Fuhrman's use of the "n word".
The Simon Wiesenthal Center in LA is tracking more than 50 hate groups on Prodigy and the Internet. They have filed a complaint with the FCC over anti-Semitic falsehoods posted on Prodigy. "The slurs are the same but the venue is different."
Responsible use of the net needs to be encouraged, or it may go the way of CB radio, as Cliff Stoll has suggested in his book, "Silicon Snake Oil".
"And like CB, a relatively small number of people on the
Internet can ruin things for others. Vitriolic flamefests that
spill over into other newsgroups have the same effect as the
good 'ol boys who broadcast racist epithets using illegal kilowatt
amplifiers." - p. 113
"People get away with things on Usenet that they'd never be
able to pull off on the street. Throw a punch during a heated
argument and you could get arrested or sued; it's not even
necessary to make physical contact. Continually shout abuse at
someone and you'll be sued for slander. Write it down and it's
libel." - p.217
"So, with written streams of calumny pouring back and forth
across the Usenet for all to see, why aren't more people getting
slapped with injunctions and lawsuits?" - p.218

The Net practises freedom of expression. The church does not.

Dear Sir - as we have told you many times, we are not an Internet Access provider, have no idea where these posts originate from, and we do not edit or review the quarter million posts that are processed each day. Internet news is a public forum, intended for free speech. It appears that free speech advocates, and most living human beings, have a lot to say in opposition of your organization.
If you are not sure if an article appeared on our server, do what Helena did, pop for a subscription so you can spy first hand, then still don't contact us.
If you would like us to establish a COS newsgroup, let me know, however, it would probably remain empty as you turn yourselves in for copyright violations and raid one another's homes while you're looking for evidence.

Long time C-ogre. I knew him in the early '70s in LA as a 'outta town
talent' Missionaire brought into orgs for 'heavy hussar' handlings on
behalf of c-org management.
He must work closely with the lawn ornament now. [p/m] Rev. Dennis L Erlich * * the inFormer * * <dennis.l.erlich@support.com>

I wonder if he's ever been involved in the "handling of ARS"?
