Scientology, the definitive web site.

Good grief, Mark! The series of articles appearing in the Buffalo News covering the notorious Scientology Corporation is a welcome, welcome sight! What's not so welcome is reading about Mayor Anthony M. Masiello and Council President David A. Franczyk, collaborating with the notorious corporation. When politicians are in Scientology's pockets, you know they're not a bit concerned with the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens they're supposedly representing and working for.
Mark, of course you realize that by accurately covering this notorious corporation, you now become a deadly enemy of Scientology and soar right to the top of their "Fair Game" policy and their equally notorious "enemies list," both of which get widely exposed on the Internet -- and in court when victims of Scientology want the Judge to hear about the corporation's policies of criminal harassment of anyone who dares speak the truth.
It's difficult to point to any one particular Scientology scam and proclaim, "This one by far is the worst." The policy of "disconnection" where loved ones are told never to have any contact with family members who disappear into the corporate cult is pretty bad. The policy of sending any follower who dares ask an authorized question being sent to their "Rehabilitation Project Force" punishment camps is also pretty bad. But I'd have to say that their quack scams involving their freakishly bizarre notions about drug rehabilitation is probably the worst aspect of these people. They deliberately prey upon people who need real, professional assistance, not quack medical scams that have never been proven to work beyond the usual placebo effect.
A big "Thank you" to you, Mark, and to the Buffalo News for the courage it takes to inform and inoculate your readers against falling for these people's scams. There's so much factual, testable, verifiable information about Scientology all over the Internet that it's amazing there are still people in the real world who still buy into Scientology's outrageous scams, but it's downright disgusting to see our elected politicians selling Scientology's frauds and scams for them.
Let's get Masiello and Franczyk out of office before they can do any further damage to the people of Buffalo.
Incidentally, I wonder what the people of New York would think about Scientology were it known that Scientology attempted to deliberately disrupt the relief efforts in New York in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks. Documents being passed back and forth among Scientology ringleaders discussing the deliberate activities to disrupt were captured and made public thanks to the infiltration of Scientology's "secret" (or not-so-secret) mailing lists, all of which can be found at http://www.cosvm.org/ along with statements by relief agencies warning people against such scammers.
