I am serious when I say this: Someone should investigate whether NY US Senator Hillary Clinton exerted any influence on the editorial staff of the Buffalo News to keep the scientology connection closed to the public. In all likelihood it was her husband who surreptitiously ordered the IRS to bestow the status of "holy religion" untouchable and not to be investigated, by legal authorities, on the criminal cult, scientology in October 1993.

(If you remember your Tax Analysts V IRS, you will see that a high IRS official familiar with the secret back room deal, refused to answer the question put to him, about President Bill Clinton's involvement in the granting of the tax exemption.
It is this very bogus tax exemption that allows editors--like at the Buffalo News--to exercise their politically correct agenda, robbing their reader of the right to know all the facts about this disease in their community.
News editors and reporters will go through this thought process advocated by the criminal cult to them: If Perkins was a catholic, would I mention the fact in the article? If Perkins was a catholic, would I take the time for a cursory web search to find out more about what the catholic church believes concerning non treatment of mental illness, or how many people have similarly died worldwide relating to church beliefs?
The Buffalo News for months failed their readership and community in reporting the whole truth, perhaps for some political agenda, or pre-arranged cronyism.
In the old days, if this organization was a broadcasting station, citizens groups would be rallying to take away their FCC license for this malfeasance.

Tom, while it is possible that Bill Clinton (who I seem to remember had a scientology roommate in college) had something to do with the "closing agreement" where the IRS agreed to discriminate in favor of scientology, I don't think it is all that likely.
The deal with the IRS had been set up when David Miscavige and Marty Rathbun barged into Fred Goldberg's office back in 1991. It is widely thought that they blackmailed the IRS commissioner with "setup" material obtained by Tom Krywucki.

I have reason to suspect that there are some confessions that are sealed until the authors of them die. If I were DM that would make me nervous.
Of course the other thing big thing hanging out there is the KGB records. If Nibs was right about LRH being involved in selling "a heat seeking missile" design (Sidewinder) to the USSR and the current Russian government ever realizes they can really hurt scientology by opening the records on this business . . . . .
