My local Org thought it would be cute to start putting business-card-size "help-wanted" notices on the boards at local supermarkets. You know, right beside the ads for babysitters, dog-doo removal and people trying to sell their grandmother's ugly green drapes....
I have gone around and pinned up a small stack of my business-card-size list of websites....
I had a chat with the manager of one store who was curious about what was going on, since he noticed that, while the Co$ card was always there, my cards seemed to be disappearing.
He kept an eye out and, lo and behold, in comes the person who puts up the Co$ card, who then takes down my stack of cards and pockets them.
When confronted, he first claimed to have taken more than one "accidentally" and then when asked to give them back, started on the whole "hate speech" speech.
This was followed by the Big Copyright Violation Argument (tm) since my card contains the phrase "Curious about Scientology?" However, the trademarks are properly attibuted and disclaimed, and are definitely Fair Use.
It was only after being informed that taking one card was fine, but taking all of them would attract the attention of Officer Muldoon that he relented and put them back.
Interestingly, within an hour of his departure, all of my cards had been removed, one at a time.
That's OK, I have lots more.... :)
Cheers,
