Just a thought:

I had believed that the kiddie porn spam bombardment of last week was a coincidence... that, despite other critics' beliefs that Co$ was behind them, the real source of the spam had nothing to do with Co$.

I now find this quite difficult to believe.

There have been numerous discussions on this newsgroup on how to block the spam with various filters and killfile schemes. Many of these centered on the wording of the titles of these spams. And so far as I can recall, all of these discussions were held on a.r.s, and not cc'ed to other groups.

The latest wave of spams has titles which show clear intent to bypass exactly the filtering schemes discussed on a.r.s (including commas, periods, spaces between letters, etc.) If random spammers were behind these attacks, why did these titles just now change? Wouldn't the filter-defeating titles have been in place all along?

To me, this seems to point directly at someone monitoring this newsgroup as the source of these spams. I cannot imagine any "critic" spamming the newsgroup, as there would be absolutely nothing to gain by doing so. And in fact, many critics have protested loudly (even stridently!) against the spam.

But I have yet to see a single protest from an orthodox Co$ member (apostates, FZ'ers, and other relatively free-thinking Scientologists such as Claire notwithstanding). How come AJ, StveJ, m i k e, Feelgood, JLHartley, lameduck, etc. aren't protesting the spam?

Don't orthodox Scientologists object to kiddie porn, too? Or is kiddie porn OK so long as OSA authorizes it?

That grassy knoll is starting to look mighty suspicious...
