First of all, the children were playing on L. Ron Hubbard Way, which is public property, not the church's. Second of all, your management knew we were coming out there and so purposely arranged the children's activities.
I was one of the kids set up on the streets to play and "smile a lot" at the December '99 pickets. They had it all planned out to make the picketers look bad, like they were against children and Christmas. But to tell the truth, the picketing always excited the hell out of us because it saved us from the horrible daily grind of Sea Org slavery. And there is of course the rebellion factor. But, too bad, only the public kids got to eat anything or keep their art projects made at the activities, us Sea Org children and cadets were too low and insignificant to deserve anything like that. Although we did ooh and ah over the free hot chocolate one of my friends got.
