Fox News is scrolling 1-800-for-truth as a "mental health" number!
Call Fox News Channel 1-888-369-4762 option 3 and complain about 1-800-FOR-TRUTH as a mental health resource!' 212-556-2500 sometimes gets a live operator at Fox.
But after that, the best thing to do is to call Scientology's 800 number and tie up the phones and operators. Record, transcribe it, and post if you can. Talk to them as long as you can before asking if Lisa McPherson was one of their successfully treated cases. Or you can try mentioning that you are willing do donate some of your Prozac to those you assist.
Don't do it more than once or twice, because while nobody will get you for one or two calls, abusing an 800 number with many calls is not legal. Technically calling the scum cult when you know they are pulling a scam on people upset by the tragedy may not be either, but nobody will give you trouble over it.
Keith Henson PS, I called them. From back ground noise they have a bunch of operators working. They are pushing Dianetics, but if you ask them, they will mention scientology. They are pushing teaching people how to do "touch assists," and no doubt taking names for later regging.
They are set up next to the Red Cross at 227 W. 46th St, that is between 7th and 8th Ave. The operator said they will be teaching starting on the hour between now and midnight. At the end of the conversation I mentioned Lisa McPherson, who they "assisted" for 17 days to her death. The woman on the phone knew who Lisa was from her tone of voice but would not admit it.
She did mention that they are getting a lot of phone calls. From the
background sound they were. Nothing like taking advantage of a
tragedy and getting nation wide exposure on TV.

Indeed. Next time this happens, what you want to do is get to a human
and ask for Legal, or say this is about a lawsuit. That will get you
to someone responsible who *will* listen. Making noises about
commercial exploitation of the tragedy and pointing them to critic web
sites plus suggesting they call the number on the screen is also a
good idea.
As I understand it, there was about 3 minutes between the time a critic spoke to Fox's legal department and the time an assistant in the legal office called the critic back to say the number was being taken off the air.
I would not be too surprised if a policy of checking out these numbers is adopted by all the TV Networks.

This is a good idea. I called, left a message with FOX. Then I called the New
York number of FOX, and the lady I spoke to said she had already called the
department responsible and was surprised that the number was still being
broadcast. THEN, I called FOX in LA, waited a good 20 minutes before someone
answered. They took down all the information, and then said they had already
received several complaints and promised they would take care of it. An hour
later, the number was STILL on the screen, so I called FOX NY and left a
message saying I would contact other news organizations if the number was not
removed.
Anyway, it's gone now.
How would it be possible to use this incident as bad PR against Co$? Does anyone have numbers for NY and LA Times for this sort of thing? So far, FOX news has not aired an apology or admission of a "screw up"

Fox News is running an announcement at the bottom of their screen directing
people to call 1-800-FOR-TRUTH for national mental health assistance. This is
part of what is running on the screen:
NYPD WARNS OF CRUEL SCAMS: FAMILIES OF MISSING PERSONS URGED NOT TO GIVE SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS TO PEOPLE POSING AS RESCUE WORKERS... PET RESCUE CALL ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL: 888-567-8123... NATIONAL MENTAL HEALTH ASSISTANCE: 800-FOR-TRUTH...

No. Not at all. Scientology had themselves listed as "National
Mental Health Assistance" making it sound like the NMHA which is a
well known organization doing good work and under attack from
Scientology.

I did call them and they were extremely disturbed that Scientology had done
this. I suggested they let all the networks know that if there is to be any
referral for mental health assistance it should be to the NMHA's Mental Health
Information Center, whose number is 800-969-NMHA. I suggest others call the
NMHA as well. Their number is 703-684-7722.

NO NO NO. The National Mental Health Association is not Scientology
related at all.
Fox News ran a banner saying "National Mental Health Assistance" with the number for the cult front group CCHR, which of course will "help"
victims by steering them far away from the mental health community and toward the Scientology scam. I myself don't blame Fox for this error. I assume Fox was duped during a time of crisis and overwork. I imagine they received a call from a CCHR agent saying there was an organization that gave mental health assistance nationally, and Fox, assuming good faith, ran the info without double checking.
As usual, the cult confuses people with names that sound similar to legitimate organizations.

Tonight Gregg was watching local cable channel 4 (a US channel) and
there was an apology for the constant barrage of graphic images over
the last week and that this might have upset some people. So at the
end of the announcement, the announcer mentioned that people could
call this number for the Salvation Army, which would put you in touch
with local mental health providers if you felt you needed someone to
talk to.
He ended with: "And we guarantee that no one will try to sell you a book!"

A St. Pete Times Reporter called me to ask what the 1-800-For Truth line is.
I told her a) It is DEF Scientology b) I thought it was their Dianetic Hotline number c) That as long as I can remember, they have been hoping to replace the pysch's with their "mental health" treatments, esp. in these types of emergencies.
She told me she'd called, saying she was a reporter and asking IF they were Scientology. She'd gotten the run around, so she was calling me.
So once we hung up...I called to see for myself what they'd say.
The girl was very open, told me yes, it was a line set up by the "Church of Scientology" and that this was a Dianetic Hotline originally.
It's been set up to get out the booklet....
She told me "we are working with the Red Cross". Really?
I'd be curious to hear what the Red Cross says about that.
She offered me a book, and even told me she was working out of LA.
She also told me "If you want,,,you can come in and volunteer". Hmmmmm that just might be a good idea.
Hey......they invited me :) Scientology, when will you learn it is actually "Out PR" to give reporters the run around?

John's a good guy, and a former colleague of mine at Time until a couple of years ago. I'm sure he'd appreciate having this brought to his attention.
Given the way this week's events have unfolded, many news programs had to be put together in lightning speed by totally-exhausted, shell-shocked people. (Indeed, two days ago I attended a meeting with a person outside the building, only to leave that same person a voicemail eight hours later, in which I apologized for not having shown up. Now, THAT'S tired! I actually didn't remember having been there. Minutes after hanging up the phone, my memory came roaring back. I can only imagine that it's been an even tougher week for the TV news folk.
In normal times, I'm sure this thing wouldn't have happened at Fox, and wouldn't have taken so long to deal with.

Subject: NYT says Giuliani and FBI taking WTC scams seriously
According to NYT
http://www.nyt.com/2001/09/14/national/15CND-BUSH.html
the FBI is taking WTC tragedy scams seriously:
"Mr. Giuliani also issued a separate warning about a telemarketing company that he said was calling people asking for donations.
"If somebody call you and asks for a donation to help the surviving families or the heroes or anything like that," he said, "call up the police or the F.B.I. and tell us who's calling you because we'll go out there and arrest them."
I wonder if Scientology defrauded FOX into carrying their 800 number for "mental health."
I believe people who were deceived by the Fox banner should complain about Scientology's fraud to the FBI.
*************************** About the time it came off I reached Legal at Fox 212-306-xxxx and gave her the scoop and some web sites. She just called the scientology number, and three minutes after I hung up, her horrified assistant called me back to say it was coming off the scroll right then! It did. I later called her back to express my thanks, and she was very appreciative that I had got through to her about this scam on Fox.
There is quite a bit more about all the other people who called on a.r.s. (And I should make it clear, could be that someone else's call may have got it off at the same time or before mine did.)

I’m posting this because it just plain pisses me off. The following notes were
all taken from emails of scientologists that a friend sent to me. It is
despicable the audacity of my former group and their arrogant yet incredibly
ignorant idea that they have it ALL figured out unlike anyone else in the world
- and disgusting how they so obviously inflate their own worth in such a true
disaster. I think someone else called them ambulance chasers in attempting to
take advantage of this horrific tragedy, and that is very true.
Notice the comments glorifying the 800-for-truth # on Fox News, yet no one has been willing to eat crow and tell Fox’s response since finding out what the "for truth" really was. And the latest bit is the claim that the psychs are behind it all. Get a grip!! Seeing these emails circling around between scientologists has validated my decision to no longer associate with that group after so many years of thinking that I too was doing right. The execs/officials lie to the members and the non-members, the members lie to each other, and on and on.
People still in the church; please step outside the box for just a minute and see that maybe, just maybe, you are NOT all that right after all, and all you’ve been fed is not true! You’ve most likely heard the phrase "you’re a legend in your own mind." This phrase fits the collective scientologist mindset of "we’re the only solution for planet earth." The rest of the world ain’t buying it!
I’m not buying it and I was a dedicated church member for 30 years - so you could say this is a very educated opinion.
Alfred E. Noumenon "What, me woggy?"
P.S. I applaud those scientologists (and anyone else) that has gone to truly assist in whatever way they can to the disaster relief with REAL help and their personal work and assistance.
All of the following are verified as coming directly from communications distributed freely to scientologist email addresses:
------------------------------------------ It has just been confirmed and in the media that Osama Bin Ladin's CLOSEST ADVISOR is a PSYCHIATRIST!!! These boys were behind Hitler, behind the "ethnic clensing" in Serbia, and are hard at work destroying the soul of America--freedom, and that the individual is important--from within and without.
------------------------------------------ I don't know if this has been posted yet, but last night the Solo Supe at Flag announced that the TV channel Fox called the Church to see if we were going to be in charge of the mental health up there and that there is a crawler at the bottom of the TV channel telling people who are distressed to call the DN hot line and they are getting bombarded with calls! Awesome! This is a major way to really explode Scientology. Now is the best time to do something on the 4th Dynamic if there ever was!
------------------------------------------ New York Handling Briefing:
This morning we received a call from FOX TV in New York. They wanted to know if we were handling the Mental Health needs of people. We said yes we were and so they have now posted the DIANETICS HOT-LINE NUMBER on their channel and we have come to find out that we are posted on four different TV stations in New York as well as on national TV as the number to call for mental help.
They have scrolling across the bottom of the screen on local and national TV three numbers to call: Mental Health (our 1-800 number), the Red Cross number and a Hospitalization number.
WE ARE RIGHT NOW DIRECTING THE MENTAL HEALTH OF THE COUNTRY!!!
The 1-800 phones at BPI are ringing off the hook. We are taking approximately 50 calls every 35 minutes average, sometimes more sometimes less.
The calls include people who need help and psychologists and psychiatrists, counselors, etc.
We are directing them to the local Church of Scientology. Telling them they need to go there as we are coordinating with the RED CROSS too and they are totally in tune, they just want to help any way they can.
POLICE, FIREMEN, DOCTORS and NURSES are being trained on our assists.
The Volunteer Ministers are rocking out there. They a. re doing assists on people, the people get better and put on a yellow shirt and start helping.

------------------------------------------ The United States government has not applied correct Condition Formulas to the handling of terrorism as a threat. The result has been an unprecedented disaster, an insane unbridled OUTCRY AGAINST the FREEDOM that this country stands for.
Our situation is NOT "business as usual." As Scientologists, WE HAVE the Conditions tech. WE MUST ACT. We must handle. We must not fail to protect and defend RELIGIOUS FREEDOM on this planet.
What we DO with the PLATFORM of Suppression in FRANCE is VITAL towards averting losses that you nor I want to sustain on our dynamics.
COURAGEOUS AMERICANS are NEEDED to come forth N O W. Put on your boots. DEFEND RELIGIOUS FREEDOM ON EARTH - BE A CRUSADER IN PARIS ON OCTOBER 22, 2001.
------------------------------------------ My S.O. exec daughter telephoned from CC Int last night to make sure I was hearing enough good news to keep me uptone.
I was happy to learn that I'd heard everything she had to tell me already via email comm lines.
Just in case you missed it, though, there are two things I wanted to pass along again. The first is that the Fox channel continuously streamed a number for Mental Help which was the 800 number for Bridge. This was after Fox contacted us and asked us for which number to post. My daughter says that besides public who get directed to the orgs, psychiatrists and psychologists have been calling the number to find out how to help people!
The second is this. There is a fence around the perimeter of Ground Zero where the World Trade Center used to be and only four categories of people are allowed inside:
1. Police 2. Firemen 3. Red Cross workers 4. Church of Scientology Volunteer Ministers ------------------------------------------ I just got off the phone with Ann at Bridge Publications. She told me that the Church's 1-800-FOR-TRUTH number is THE mental health number being flashed across the bottom of FOX and other major TV news channels. Ann told me they are flooded with calls.
She explained that this is the result of the Volunteer Ministers working at ground zero. Out of the 120 relief volunteers at ground zero, 40 are Scientology Volunteer Ministers. This direct contact is how the 1-800-FOR-TRUTH number became THE mental health number to call.
------------------------------------------ Well I'm here to pass on more theta. I arrived today along with 16 other Volunteer Ministers to the "base" which is located at Stuyvesant High School, about 1/4 mile from the disaster site. I initially spent my time just unpacking food and handing out water. There were so many volunteers from the Red Cross and Salvation Army too and it became apparent to me and a couple of others that we needed to do more! There was a very large barricade there manned by both Police and Military and they absolutely refused to let us though. The SO member in charge of the VM's "snuck" about 5 of us in another way and on the way we gave out cold drinks to tired rescue workers. We stayed in the pier area right near the site for awhile, helping to unload TONS of supplies arriving by boat. … There were literally thousands of workers comprised of police, firefighters, paramedics, electricians, iron workers, sanitation and more and it was just so great to be there and helping.
------------------------------------------ CCHR Press Release HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION HIGHLIGHTS CONTINUING MENTAL TERRORISM FROM ATTACK ON AMERICA "As an international human rights organization, we offer our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of this inhumane and heinous terrorist attack on innocent American citizens. While these acts of unspeakable evil defy our comprehension, we must retain our certainty that these are the cowardly actions of weak and insane minds, minds that are psychologically indoctrinated to feel nothing about the mass murder of innocent lives," stated Jan Eastgate, President of the Citizens Commission on Human Rights International (CCHR).
"Gordon Thomas, author of Journey into Madness, warned us about the Beirut, Lebanon terrorist psychiatrist, Dr. Aziz al-Abub, who provided `pep pills' for suicide-bombers and implanted them with the idea of the glory of sacrifice and dying. His greater target was the minds of the people, creating tension in the streets in the aftermath of terrorism. This is tension that we must unite together to prevent in the people of America."
"CCHR, of course, supports a full investigation into this horrific tragedy but warns that such an investigation must not stop at isolating the individuals directly responsible, but must also determine what mental techniques and manipulation were used to turn those individuals into mindless murderers."
CCHR's evidence of psychiatric influence behind Bosnia and Kosovo's civil terrorism led to Members of the Council of Europe in 1999 signing a resolution that recognized psychiatrists Radovan Karadzic and Jovan Raskovic as the architects of ethnic cleansing in those countries. Prime Minister Slobovan Milosovic, a former Karadzic patient, perpetrated and financed Kosovo's ethnic cleansing.
With reports accusing Osama bin Laden of being the source of the WTC and Pentagon attacks, CCHR's attention has turned to his chief aide, Ayman al-Zawahiri, a former psychiatrist convicted of terrorism in Egypt and sentenced to death in absentia.
According to Islamic lawyer, Muntasir Zayat, Zawahiri is to bin Laden "what the brain is to the body." Zawahiri "was able to reshape bin Laden's thinking and mentality and turn him from merely a supporter of the Afghan Jihad to a believer in and export of the Jihad's ideology," the lawyer said.
CCHR has called on its 131 chapters worldwide to accelerate their investigations and exposure of those who use destructive mental practices for political ends.
CCHR was established in 1969 by the Church of Scientology to investigate and expose psychiatric human rights abuses.

WHY NATIONS GO TO WAR Thousands of families are grief stricken in our country this week because one group of people believed they were justified in viciously attacking another. This is no new phenomenon in our history - the poeple of Earth have solved their problemss this way for centuries.
What motivates any group of people to do violence against another? "Society is like an organism, but with people, not cells, for its parts," said author and humanitarian L Ron Hubbard in his book Dianetics, the Modern Science of Mental Health.
Dianetics explains how every person has a reactive part to the mind and that this reactive mind is constantly recording and storing away moments of pain - whether physical or emotional - and unconciousness. These mental image pictures in the reactive mind create aberration - upset, unexplained behavior and emotions. As individual reactivity increases we find ourselves living in an increasingly mad society.
When a group or society is filled with aberration it feels the urge to punish. "Behind the curtains of language and different customs, populaces are taught to recognize no kinship with other populaces. Taught by their own terrors and governed by their own aberrations, leaders hold up other "isms" as detestable things."
"But no self interest should be so great as to demand the slaughter of mankind," says Hubbard in Dianetics. He calls war social insanity.
We have just seen this very attitude play out - a group that feels so strongly that America and capitalism is destestable brutally atacked us.
Once you have a group or a nation believing that another group is detestable, it justifies using violence against them.
You can find examples of this in your own neighborhaod. It starts with gang violence and escalates all the way to war - both political and religious.
"So went Greece,so went Rome. so goes Russia. And so goes the United States and with it goes mankind," said Hubbard. Taking actions based on hate and aberration is not the way to sanity and freedom.
There is a higher goal, a more glorious victory than gutted towns and radiation burned dead," said Hubbard. "There is freedom, happiness and plenty." The way to reach these goals is to fight the one fight that matters - individual aberration.
As each person frees themselves from their own aberrations so society becomes sane and hate and violence will disappear.
"How much can man conquer?" asked Hubbard. "He loses if he conquers man. He wins if he conquers his own fears and conquers then the stars."
------------------------------------------ A personal win shared…..
Ron says "When you start to introduce order into anything, disorder shows up and blows off. Therefore, efforts to bring order in the society or any part of it will be productive of disorder for a short while every time. The trick is to keep on bringing order and soon the disorder is gone and you have orderly activity remaining."
So here we have had these events recently in Scientology informing us of the boom of OT's "flying" up the Bridge. They are "exploding" up the bridge.
The Bridge has two equal sides and makes up one thing...The Bridge...Order.
Then we have the situation with the World Trade Center. The WTC has two equal sides, right and left, making up one thing...The World Trade Center...Disorder. There is/was no other structure on the entire planet like the WTC. Scientology is order. So here's my win. The size and magnitude of the disorder in New York is relavant to the size and magnitude of order that we as Scientologists are putting into the universe. Not to give the slightest bit of credibility to the destruction by the SP's but if I'm on Grade 2 and I'm aware of the impact my auditing has on other dynamics and the universe, I KNOW that OT's have unlimited impact on the universe.
THERE IS THAT MUCH ORDER GOING IN ON THE UNIVERSE! Well, then I felt better. I actually had a release at that moment. Note that it's called the "World" Trade Center. Not the U.S. Trade Center but the "4th Dynamic" Trade Center.
Now the trick is to keep on bringing order. First of all, does anyone out there have communication lines with the President, the U.S. Military, the FBI, Intelligence, etc.? We need to get the SP tech, ethics tech, conditions tech to these people ASAP. We need to bypass the SP's in our own country and get this technology to the front lines to put in order. Next we need to advertise either via the national news network or via our own commercials now. We need to make it known to the public that the How to Shatter Suppression data and the Ups and Downs in Life data are available.
We need to put order in on a grand scale because things are happening on a
grand scale.
