Subject: HOW SCIENTOLOGY GETS ITS HOOKS INTO NEW RECRUITS

Others may have stuff to add to this thread, and I would be very interested to hear all your views and personal experiences too... M.

From my own experiences with Scientology over more than 24 years inside (now webbed at www.lermanet.com/pattinson ) I have recently seen that I was "hooked" into Scientology by 3 main methods;

1. The focus by the registrar on my biggest failing in life (called a "ruin") and the promise that ONLY Scientology could cure that.

2. The assimilation (like the Borg on Star Trek) of my whole being and life purpose into the life/survival purpose of the group called "Scientology". This was done by the use of the "higher" purpose of "Clearing the Planet", freeing Mankind and making sure that Mankind got "saved" from imminent and deadly danger by my own efforts as a cult member.

3. The mystery created by "SUPER-SECRET O.T.Powers", never revealed before, and only available to hugely LOYAL Scientologists, by invitation only.

As for these hooks...

1. The ruin is never handled by the "Tech" as it is a carrot on the stick to elicit continuity of payment, donation and contribution "for the sake of the group survival".

2. The whole purpose of Mankind can not be fully embraced by an individual or a group as neither are large enough to deal with it. An individual can only succeed in a purpose designed for an individual to accomplish. A group can only succeed in a purpose that ensures its own survival; otherwise it fails. All the "save mankind" purpose does is to over-ride (by-pass) personal vaid and valuable purposes and hi-jacks the individual's power into the collective.

3. The super-secret OT fiction stories are now all over the internet, downloaded, recorded and stashed by many since they were spread all over the web. I actually did go all the way to the top of the Scientology Chart, as available, and found that the most inaccessible holy-of-holies, the secret, heavily guarded inner circle of all circles, the puffed-up "Jeff Pomeranz OT video P.R on stellar, galactic, mind-blowing super-human potential" (lol), the treasure house of Ali Baba's cavern of OT abilities was EMPTY of all that was promoted as being there to have.

Showing people these 3 points and having them discuss how they were used on them may help some "hooked" into the cult to finally take themselves back and get a life. I sure hope something wakes them up!
