"Save the Bayfront" was the name of the organization opposed to the
Clearwater redevelopment project backed by, among others, CoS and
former City Manager Mike Roberto. The project failed and Roberto
lost his job soon after.

Oops. I failed to mention the name of the "grass roots"
organization which backed Roberto's plan and vowed to continue fighting for it even after it was voted down (http://tampabay.bcentral.com/tampabay/stories/2000/07/17/story1.html) Citizens for a Better Clearwater.
