I drive by [Superpower building] a couple of times a week. No -- N-O -- visible progress -- nada, nothing, zip, zero, zilch.
Yes, I know the RPF works on different projects for the renos that are going. I have seen RPFers outside doing yard maintenance type work. I know there is a warehouse not far from the FH over on East Ave where furniture-type projects would be happening. It's also a legitimate warehouse for "stuff" -- some archival, some event materials, etc. Frank McCall is the I/C there.
The project is actually called the Super Power Expansion Project. It is under the Church of Scientology Religious Trust. The building is still being referred to as the Super Power Building.
The shell of the building has been fully constructed, however the inside remains empty -- and I mean empty. There are scaffolds that can be seen inside during the day, but other than that there's been no forward progress for some time.
As I understand it, DM issued an edict that Super Power would not be released until all the PR sits and flaps in Clearwater were fully handled. Sounds like an arbitrary to me, but hey, it's not my show.
So far there has been about $120 million donated to the building. It's a puzzlement as to why the inside hasn't been completed and at least made ready to deliver. I suspect there's something else going on, but couldn't tell you right now what "that" is.
I can tell you that the production only stops when there is a financial situation.
The donations are, of course, tax deductible but there is now a disclaimer at the bottom of the dono envelope that says "Super Power donations are not advance donations for Scientology religious services and are not refundable." Lauri Webster is the Project I/C.
The plan was to move everything from the FH over to the Super Power Building and return the FH to a hotel. The Coachman Building, at the corner of Cleveland St and Ft Harrison Ave, currently houses all the training activities and will continue to do so in the future. The Sandcastle is home to the AO including the delivery of OT 6 & 7. There was an article in the St Pete Times last summer -- in July I think -- that showed all the property the church currently owns. It was a lot! A lot more than most people realized. The article seemed to be informative, but the undertone was "if you don't want the Scientologists to take over, then you'd better do something and do it quick". The title of the article was "Scientology's Town". If you search for the St Pete Times and then pull up their archives, you should be able to find it. It was four full pages long.
