(Posted for him because he's worried about the CoS' reaction to him speaking out.)
-------------------------------------------------- Dorsai, Thanks for the offer to answer questions about Scientology.
I am a former staff member who left many years ago. I departed because the Toronto org was very difficult to work with. I was also suspicious of the tech. Still, so many seemed to be benefitting from it that I did not want to jump to harsh conclusions. And since scientology claimed that it would take over the world within four years, scientific validation, if it was ever to come, would be just around the corner. I waited.
About seven years later I concluded that Dianetics could not possibly work as claimed. Eventually four close friends, all OT's, left. One by one they admitted that they had no OT powers and that they had been deluding themselves for years. I was then able to fully conclude that the whole thing was a sham.
Dorsai-- I want you to understand that I am not a criminal, a paid tool or a bigot-- merely someone who has weighed the available evidence. You may not be aware of the evidence I have, or you may have interpreted the evidence differently.
Here are my questions:
1. Where are the scientologists from the 50's, the 60's and the 70's?
What percentage quit? What percentage got thrown out? What percentage moved south or east for higher training?
2. Why did church president Brian Levman and church president Emile Gilbert get declared suppressive?
3. Why do any clears get declared suppressive when clears are to the normal what the normal is the institutionalized, while suppressives are the most wicked people on the planet, stuck at 1.1 as I remember?
4. Why does Heber Jentzsch, clear and OT wear glasses?
5. Do you know any clears with perfect memory who are able to use it?
6. Do you know any OT's who have measured their mental mass by standing on a scale? Did any get as high as thirty pounds? I have experimented with four OT's and have yet to get the scale to budge.
7. What were the names of those married OT8's in Toronto who died in a car crash? Why do you think someone with control knowingly and at will over matter, energy, space, life, time and thought would use their powers in such a way?
8. Why were there not 100,000 on staff at the Toronto org by 1975 as was the prediction in 1971?
9. Why did scientology claim 15,000,000 adherents in 1971 and 8,000,000 today while also claiming to be the world's fastest growing religion?
10. Why have four close friends, 0T1, OT3, OT5, OT7 all left, admitting soon after that they had no special powers? Three withdrew from the church, one was thrown out.
11. Why have I never seen an OT phenomenon though OT abilities are often talked about?
12. With the Xenu story out why hasn't there been an increase in the instances of pneumonia?
13. Do you agree with the Globe and Mail report that there are 100,000 scientologists in Canada? There are only 8 churches in Canada and the Toronto and Kitchener ones are all but empty. Where are they?
14. Do you believe Dianetics was a scientific study of over 270 cases and that the information in DMSMH is as accurate as the sciences of physics or chemistry?
These are the key questions. I will answer them with my own opinions for you if you ask me to. But you must answer those questions in a plausible way if I am to stop telling people to avoid scientology.
Yours, John Langer -------------------------------------------------- I'm also interested in hearing Dorsai666's answers to these questions.
