John: During your phone call to me yesterday you hesitated before you began to taunt me and demean me because I have to use supplemental oxygen. Why did you hesitate? Because you knew that it was wrong, of course. How did you know that I use oxygen? Your 'scientology friends' gave you this information so that you could attempt to use it against me. Your 'scientology friends' have been stealing my garbage in their pathetic attempts to get something that they can use against me.
Think back, John to your life pre-scientology. Could you ever have imagined your self as a dentist, a health care professional, attempting to attack someone with their personal health situation? It's inconceivable, right?
Not long ago you showed up at your parents house with a "Psychiatry Kills" T-shirt on. Your mother shamed you into taking it off. And you did take it off...you still have some decency and rationality left in you.
John...I am not your enemy. I was contacted by your family who, out of their love for you, were greatly concerned about you since you got involved with the Marcus Group and Scientology.
Your family heard somewhere that I was a former scientologist and a former Cult awareness Network (CAN) staff member. They asked me for advice. I was told that you had left your wife and kids and your dental practice to "help the world with Scientology." I was told that your wife and kids were left in a dire financial position. You tried to deny this in your phone call to me but I don't think that your denials will hold up anywhere.
I told your family of my years in scientology, of how and why I got out of scientology and how and why I got involved with CAN.
I told them that when I found out about CAN and that their office was in this region, I contacted them and offered myself as a voluntary reference. After checking me out CAN did start refering some phone callers to me...people who had called CAN and had asked to speak with someone who had actually been in scientology. I told your family that the very first party referred to me was the wife of a young dentist in the Chicago area. This woman was beside herself...she had recently discovered her husband's involvement with scientology and how much money he had turned over to scientology. Her husband, a young dentist, had been sold some management training by Hollander Mgt. He paid $11,000 for this... stuff that you could get out of a $12 book. Soon Hollander Mgt. told her husband that if he wanted to improve his business he had to improve his life. And they had just the right 'technology' for that...'Hubbard' Technology. He was soon off to Portland once a month for L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology. In less than a year Scientology had another $50,000 out of him and were hounding him for more. Fortunately, he was himself now getting alarmed.
I spoke with her husband briefly over the phone and we agreed to meet at their home. I took an assortment of articles and things on scientology and a video of a show that the BBC had done in England. After talking and watching the video I explained to this dentist and his wife exactly what was going to happen to them. Incidentally, attempts had been made to recruit his wife but she refused to get involved. I explained to him the hypnotic methodology that is used in scientology;
the TRs, auditing etc. I explained that soon he wouldn't be able to stay away from scientology and he wouldn't be able to think of anything but scientology and L. Ron Hubbard. I explained to him how the Church of Scientology operates a number of Management front groups that target specifically, dentists, veterinarians, chiropractors and podiatrists and these are targeted for recruitment because they are attracted to management information and they all have credit cards which can be maxed up to $100,000 and beyond. In addition to Hollander Mgt. there is Sterling mgt. , the Marcus Group, Singer, Precision Mgt. and others.
I further explained to this couple that since she would not get involved with scientology they would put pressure on him to divorce her. She would object to all of the money going to scientology, all of the time spent at scientology and the ever increasing debt. Scientology would soon convince him that she was a 'Suppressive Person' and that he should 'Disconnect' from her. He would eventually dump her and the kids and would spend all of his time at scientology and 'helping the world' with scientology. He would run up a tremendous credit card debt of $100-200...probably $300,000. Finally, he would run out of money with his credit cards all being maxed out. Scientology would tell him to sell or dump his dental practice and to work on staff for scientology. He would get all of his courses and auditing FREE plus he would be helping to 'Clear' the planet..
But once he got on staff and was working 16 hours a day for $50 a week he would at some point realize that he couldn't live on this and as he was always working to 'Clear' the planet he never had time for the 'free' courses and auditing.
John...does this all sound quite familiar. I could go on and describe more of this dreary scenario. Happily, this young dentist decided that he wanted to get out scientology and save his family and his business. I showed him steps to take to deprogram himself from the scientology poison and how to get most of his money back. I told him that scientology would send two people out to deal with him when they realized that he was getting out and that they would offer him free courses and auditing...anything to get him back in and within the hypnotic methodology. I explained how to handle this and one day his wife called exclaimed..."they're here." Surprisingly, they only sent one person and the young dentist handle everything just right. He did get much of his money back. Later we had a celebratory dinner together.
John, please take a good look at what you are doing and what you have done. You can walk out at any time. You can get much of your money back. You can be free of L. Ron Hubbard's madness. You can be free of the vicious and greedy scientology cult. It is helpful to many getting out of this cult to be in touch others who have left. That is what this ARS newsgroup is for.
I'm here for you. My phone is 847-205-1134 Jim Beebe

Alex Beam of the Boston Globe correctly called scientology an
"anti-intellectual movement". I think that most scientologists
believe that Oxygen is some sort of illegal drug.
