Typical Scientologist misdirection. There is no distinction between Scientology and Dianetics, Dianetics is just a front to sucker you into the Scientology cult. In any case, if the Grade Chart has nothing to do with Dianetics, why does your cult define the Grade Chart as relating to both Scientology AND Dianetics?

Actually anyone who walks in the doors of one is doing both, as they are usually the same address, in the same building, with the same phone number and the same fax number, and the same franchise holder, ahem, "Missionholder."

If you walk into a Scientology organization and say hi, I want to be a Scientologist, start me on Scientology, you are going to be doing the stuff you call Dianetics. The Dianetics book is called "Book One" for a reason. Book one of Scientology.

Why is there a volcano on the cover of Dianetics? To restimulate what Scientologists call "Incident II" the incident where we ALIEN BEINGS were all kidnapped from our home planets by the ruler Xenu, taken to Earth, and brainwashed into thinking we are humans. That's not only Scientology, it's the very heights, the very core of Scientology. On the cover of the Dianetics book.

Dianetics addresses the mind, Scientology addresses the spirit. It's just word weaseling. The mind, the spirit, you are a THETAN. Use your mind to think of something - a cat. Now, what is the thing that's thinking of the cat. Your mind, your spirit? No, the cult says it is what you really are that is conjuring up the image of a cat - and what you really are is a thetan, an immortal ALIEN BEING.

In Dianetics, they want to trick you into thinking it isn't a religion.

In Scientology, they want to trick you into thinking it IS a religion.

Gets both types of seekers that way.

In Dianetics, they say it's your mind, they say it's reacting to past incidents in your childhood. In Scientology, it expands a bit, it's your thetan that's reacting to incidents along the whole track of time, reaching back into your past lives. Later you learn your thetan is affected by other thetans glommed onto you that need removal.

One segment telescopes neatly into the next, but it is all one rod, all one road leading along what the cult calls a gradient.

You aren't ready for Xenu. You aren't ready for thetans, really. You need a simple explanation. You need some good lies to start with. It's not a religion, it's compatible with your current religion, there is no "space opera" as the cult terms it, there is no Xenu, there are no body thetans. Not yet. You need lies, you need the true facts to revealed to you on a "gradient." It has to go step by step. Partly because you'll be confused. You are a victim, brainwashed and implanted with thoughts that will reject most of the truth. And the big truths, the space opera stuff, it's downright booby trapped. If you start trying to unravel it, it could literally make you not just spiritually sick, but physically sick, the implanted thoughts are cleverly trapped to cause this. So we have to go slow. We have to lie, simplify.

Dianetics is the bottom step, the part that reveals the least and deceives the most. It's got to be that way. You can't HANDLE the truth.

It's for your own good. It's the means necessary to get to the end, the most wonderful end there could be - a planet of beings cleared of aberrant thoughts, or brainwashed minds, where we realize our immortality and godlike powers over matter, energy, space and time. A planet full of thetans that OPERATE correctly. And it goes on from there. There are 75 other planets in the confederation we came from, you know. And we aren't confined to this time track or this universe. It's TOTAL FREEDOM, baby.

Dianetics. Scientology. Operating Thetan. It's one road with no gaps and a smooth set of polished transitions. Get that book with the volcano on the cover, the first step onto a big bridge we have to sell you. A bridge to TOTAL FREEDOM.

And if you get disillusioned part way along the long path, and want to leave fine. Heck, that's part of it. You see, no one can actually ever really get to the end, the end stuff is not released. Oh, it might be, but don't hold your breath for it to be released in this lifetime. Maybe a couple of lifetimes down the line. So go if you need to. Just remember the contracts you signed and the confessions we've written down and carefully filed. There will be no lawsuits if we can help it. And no refunds. Read that fine print.
