"Next is your characterization of the IRS exemption proceeding, unquestionably due, in no small part, to your participation in the comission of an illegal act--the publishing of the church/IRS Closing Agreement. While you no doubt claim a reporter's privilege, leaking that information, as well as publishing it, is a felony."
--from a letter by David Miscavige, Chairman, to the Wall Street Journal, March 13, 1998, p. A13.
Why would a purely "ecclesiastical" leader such as David Miscavige claims himself to be comment on such a material situation such as tax relief and felonies? Is David Miscavige an expert on felonies?
My take on this is that Keith Henson was a few years ahead of Ninth Circuit Judge Silverman in filing suit against the IRS. Did David Miscavige then punish Keith Henson with a criminal setup for presaging what should be done against Scientology in the law court? After all, DM believes that even talking about the settlement is a felony even though it blatantly favors Scientology over, among other religions, Judaism, and despite a clear Supreme Court ruling in Hernandez.
Shame on David Miscavige. Shame on David Miscavige and Scientology.
