With the accusation that our lyrics promote violence or criminality being pushed by Ava Paquette, and the Church of Scientology (in a recent letter to Stationmp3.com) - I thought I should clear a few things up.
For the 99% of you who already know this, please ignore.
1. Enturbulator 009 is dedicated to PEACEFUL protest against Scientology in the form of parody and satire in music. The songs posted by us on our varied sites are clearly labeled in the "comedy" genre.
2. The members of the band, and myself, abhor the use violence or threats, and will NEVER use them to achieve our aims. Anyone who uses violence to enforce their views is a fascist, and our enemy. We have been careful to not even make violent jokes, as we KNOW it would be used to paint us as "terrorists" or anti-religious extremists.
3. We consider ourselves in the tradition of the folk protest music of the 60's, the punk protest music of the 80's, and battling MC's in modern Hip Hop.
4. We make no physical presence, and remain anonymous because of Scientology's "Fair Game" policy, wherein critics or "enemies" of Scientology may be tricked, lied to, or sued - in the hope to "shudder them into silence". We also maintain zero physical presence to show that we are only interested in speech and music as a personal means of protest.
5. We often make wildly exaggerated satirical statements in our lyrics of an insulting nature. This is in the tradition of past and current Hip Hop MC's. During microphone "battles", the MC's target is traditionally run through the ringer with insults and derision. This is also a type of parody.
6. We hold no hatred for Scientologists. We are of the belief that the majority of Scientologists are people who genuinely mean well, and obey the law. Our distaste is directed at David Miscavige, Heber Jentzsch, Helena Kobrin, Mary DeMoss, Kendrick Moxon, and the other key people in positions of power in Scientology. We believe these are ruthless people who are enemies of free speech and expression, and use their money and power to suppress any speech they do not approve of.
7. We believe in the rights of free speech granted to us as U.S.
citizens under the first amendment of the constitution. We will defend this right with every legal means available to us. I am willing to be outed, if that is what it takes. I am willing to stay with this all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary. We will not back down, or be silenced.
8. We believe that any group that would try to silence protected speech by labeling it as "dangerous" or "encouraging criminal conduct" without merit, is deliberately misusing the legal system. We believe that is exactly what is happening, and that it is a pattern in Scientology.
9. We believe that David Miscavige is insecure, and easily riled. We believe that he is angry at us, and is likely to authorize our investigation and harassment.
Cheers, Queso
