You claim the German government has a history of specific discrimination against Scientology. I beg to differ even though the Church of Scientology have managed to dupe the US State Department report on Human Rights for several years. There are no documented records of such discrimination.

What Germany has done is to act on the very well documented Scientology goal to infiltrate governments. They don't want a repetition of CoS's infiltration, break in and sabotage against government and lawyer offices in USA. But if you think this is just innocent activities for religion that is of course your liberty to profess.

Are you also of the opinion that a group that has as a goal to take over the world by infiltration and intelligence (http://www.entheta.net/entheta/go/berlin.html) should not be investigated to protect the population? If the German government have legit reason to suspect that Scientologists are conspiring to undermine the democratic system is it also your opinion that they should not act upon this and be suspicious about anything this "church" is involved in?

Do you think CoS's Operation Snow White should be ignored because it is done by a group that claims it is a religion (http://wpxx02.toxi.uni-wuerzburg.de/~cowen/go/ops/go732/go732.htm)?

If Microsoft or Excecutive Software refuses to release the source code to ensure the German government that the software in question is harmless, is it really not reasonable to request instructions on how to remove or disable the feature if they so wish? Is it your opinion that any government or other agency should not take security precautions for computer systems used for data that is confidential? I doubt you believe the US government does not have similar precautions, except to them MS is a national product and it would create an outrage if the government choose anything else. Why should Germany be obliged to use this software? It sounds like you think they should be since you react so strongly when they say they are looking into not using it.

You have the nerve, pardon my language, to compare this with the Nazi persecution of the Jews. You've swallowed the Scientology bait with hook, sinker and rod and I am writing this e-mail hoping I can stop you from swallowing the fisher too.

Even the leaders of the Jews in Germany have reacted with disgust to such comparisons! If a criminal organization calls itself a religion they are supposed to become untouchable? Thanks, but I don't think so.

If you would not question, let's say, a Scientology run company to administrate your personal data that is totally your call, but the same goes for everybody else too. I believe I should have the right to know what products that would support this cult if I bought it, so that I can avoid buying it. I say that is my right as a consumer and would suspect it would be a the same for most Americans to demand the same freedom. I wouldn't trust Scientology with my worst enemy because I know too many ex-scientologists who describe in detail how the loyalty of a Scientologist goes to the "church" before anything else. I know from my mountain of court documents, affidavits and secret internal CoS policy letters how far they are willing to go to reach their goals. I've seen enough people and families been ruined because of this cult and I'd say there are more than enough documented reasons to monitor very carefully their every move. Germany knows the potential threat and because of their history they know very well what to look for in a manipulating cult reaching for world domination. They are not rounding the Scientologists up and putting them in camps (the way L. Ron Hubbard suggested one should do with critics when CoS came to power http://www.xenu.net/archive/enemy_names/dispose.html) but instead monitoring their activities and taking precautions so that CoS can not become a threat. They are doing this publicly, not in secret like CoS does. It is therefore tragic when columnists like yourself don't investigate all the facts more carefully before taking sides.

As in every conflict there are more than one side, we know from years of experience that the US government has kneeled to CoS. Just look at the letter authored by CoS that IRS sent out to most governments around the world after CoS launched thousands of lawsuits against IRS in order to get their secret agreement which gave them tax deduction no other US church has. Maybe you should investigate more carefully the other side of this controversy, before making premature judgements like you did in your article?
