There is talk of creating a Greg Bashaw Memorial Fund. The function of this Fund would be to create, publish and distribute descriptive literature which would serve to educate the public at large as to the true nature of the Church of Scientology. This literature would be professionally done by writers and artists and would clearly layout and describe the dark and hidden side of Scientology. Lower level scientologists are shielded from the secret courses which drove Greg Bashaw and so many others into depression and suicide. This literature would be helpful to them as well as the public. Distribution of the fund literature would be targeted to mental health and medical professionals, Dental associations, Chiropratic Associations schools, libraries, members of the congress, Govt. agencies etc, etc.
The Fund could also serve to help and support pople who have been legally abused by the church of Scientology such as Keith Henson, Graham Berry, Tom Padgett and others.
The Fund would work with the LMT (LIsa McPHerson Trust) but would be independent of it.
Funds for the Fund would be raised from former members, critics and the public at large.
The Greg Bashaw Memorial fund could have a far reaching effect in exposing the crimes and frauds perpetrated by the Church of Scientology as well as the dark and hidden side of L. Ron Hubbard's bizarre teachings. If the Fund could prevent one tragedy such as that which befell the late Greg Bashaw, it will have served its purpose.
You are invited to express your opinions, pros or cons, as to the worth of this proposal.

He is a classic, tragic example of what happens often to a person immersed in scientology. Greg was a heavily indoctrinated fanatical scientologist who spent a lot of his time harassing CAN, CAN staff and CAN supporters. He was also know to AFF as he would attend and attempt to disrupt some of their meetings. And he was one of the CAN spy's contacts.
I don't know whether his father and wife will support this. I believe that his father will as he is quite bitter and angry at scientology. I believe that Greg's wife has left scientology but is in some kind of limbo. I don't know if it would be necessary to have their approval.
The time is here to generate literature which shows the truth about scientology and its bizarre teachings and the Greg Bashaw tragedy gives a solid reason to kick start this into reality much as the Lisa McPherson tragedy brought about the LMT.
