Friday june 16, 17:55 Harassment by scientologist denounced Lausanne (AP) The Lausanne Town Council will denounce the scientologist managers for "harassment" on public ground. For three days, they have been approaching passers-by in the street in the town center, in the frame of their private exhibition. Open air concerts without authorizations have also been organized. Despite a first warning, the harassment is still going on (note from Entheta : I just came back from watching it, and it is still active, despite the stronger warnings mentioned in this article). "This situation is not acceptable anymore" commented the town authorities friday, announcing that it was going to take the measures required to sue them. In 1998, the Town Council already had taken a decision restricting the usage of public grounds by scientology and related organizations. AP AP - The Associated Press. All rights reserved.

Comments by Entheta :
I went to see it and this is how they operate : their exhibition is located in a building standing at the corner of a public square (trees, fountain).
Along the square is a staircase linking the higher and lower parts of the city. A female and a male body routers approach passers-by on the stairscase by handling them roses. This is a common technique used regularly by the socialist party volunteers, so people are less on their guards than when being presented the personality test or other leaflets. Only good looking people are approached. I have seen some bums being ignored (as well as me with my dark glasses and short). When the unspected victim has taken the rose, they are "invited" to visit the exhibition, a few meters away.
Difficult to say no after having accepted the rose (although I have seen some people back-pedaling after seing the term "scientology" on top of the exhibition entrance).
I am really sad of being alone and not being able to confront them and divert the unsuspecting victims (where is Roger when you need him?). I found myself quite alone on that place, amongst so many scientlogists and really got frightened. When some of them tried to speak to me, I just asked them to leave me alone and continued watching. When one guy with dark glasses (like me !) started to make calls on his cellular phone, looking directly at me, I knew it was time to leave. I went to the closest police station to testimony of what I had seen. They said they could not do anything, but my complaint has been recorded, and it will fuel the already large case to ban the scientologist activities on public ground in Lausanne.
