Yesterday I spoke to a reporter. As we spoke he said to me:
"You are the healthiest person I have ever spoken to who has left scientology".
I thanked him and told him I attribute it to two things:
1) My Father, Paul Christman 2) The army of Critics and Ex-scios My father raised me with courage. He always taught me "Tory, even if you are in a room of 1,000 people who are all sitting down too afraid to speak their mind, if you know something is wrong, you must stand up. Even if you are the only person in that room who says anything, you must stand up and say what you believe in. To not do so will kill you". I can only say thank you, Magoo (he was the original Magoo in our family, who died in 1971), where ever you are....
I know you are proud of me! :))) As to each and every critic, what can I say? I am ever amazed with each of you.
I cannot thank you enough for standing strong. You are a group who saw this organization screwing with Freedom of Speech and around the world said "Not on MY watch!" I thank each of you for being there, for persisting despite some of the horrific things this organization has done and said about you. Best of all, you are fun, and good people. I love you.
As to each and every ex-scio out there, it is hard to say in words how I feel.
Some of you have endured hardship that we will never really know. Just having to leave.... To break out ...all on your own and be alone for years, is hard to even imagine. To live with the massive guilt trip this organization runs on people....is a torture in itself. To say you have the strength of 100 Russian Armies would not even come close. Poof! Armies. You all have endured torture the Chinese cannot even envision. But most importantly, you are here! You made it. They didn't beat you down. HERE! HERE! Please know I (and every other ex-scio that has left more recently I am sure) thanks you all for your courage and strength, and your persistence. Especially to you who have remained here on the front lines, and you know (and we know) who you are, a special thanks to each of you! Thanks doesn't really cut it, but please know this is meant from the top and bottom of my heart. I love each of you...and I wish you great happiness.
We are the new kids on the block. But I am sure I can speak for each of us in saying we will never, ever forget that you all stood strong and held those doors open, so we could walk free and out onto the stage to speak. Would we have walked out without you? Sureā¦.the party is over, and each of us had our own experiences in that arena. But will we always appreciate what all you had to go through? How could we not! My point is, because of the Internet, and because of each of you being there creating a safe space for scios to leave to, more and more are going to come. Remember in "Field of Dreams: IF you build it, they will come"? Well, you have helped build a new field, and we are now a part of it! More are on the way. Just remember that last scene in that movie with the trail of lights going for miles and miles as cars came......
:)))) Thank you for this.
I think we ALL are going to have one of the most amazing new years imaginable.
My analogy is the Super Power Building sitting on toothpicks. (If you haven't seen it...get the idea of a 6-story building resting on toothpicks). Do YOU want to keep hanging around in that building knowing the toothpicks are getting weaker and weaker? It isn't that they are weaker from more people in the building. You know that isn't so. It is simply because the toothpicks are getting weaker with age, and the owners don't care to really build a firm foundation. They are out spending your money at the bars, and with attorneys.
(BAIL WHILE YOU CAN SCIOS!) This is our game, and let's have fun playing it. Can you hear the music?
Merry Christmas to all!
Love you,
Tory/Magoo~ One of the new kids dancin at the end of the block, loving the
