After having read and translated the telegrams from US Spanish Embassy to US govt, I can only find one and one only word to define it.
This is scandalous.
Not only it is a violation of the treaties between Spain and USA related to law enforcement assistance, but it amounts to a deny of justice.
Even if it's true that the spanish justice has had some harsh times with the suits vs scn engaged since 1984, a considerable deny of justice in itself, but inside the country and therefore more or less justified, the USA should never engage in such an evident violation of human rights (denying proper justice just to make sure the fucking tchurdch is not damaged), but as well, it is also a mere violation of first amendment, since the govt of USA should not favor a religion (and moreover so, when that group has never been accepted as a religion by its own Supreme Courts).
What would we think if our embassies paid by the tax payers monies engaged into such tractations with foreign govts supposed to be separed from the churches of their countries? That they are either sold out to those groups, or that they are completely gone crazy, or that they are blackmailed, or anything of this sort.
And what would we think if our justice systems would be impeded thru the use of any foreign embassies spending lots of times to make reports and receive attorneys just to defend injustice against our own citizens? That the country doing so is rather an enemy than a friend.
It's unberable for sovereign countries to have their own laws and constitutions hampered by others.
