After reviewing the video tape taken of the protest outside of the Scientology cult's property on 28/Apr/00, it brought to mind another question that I don't think has been addressed in detail here in this forum. I've never seen any definitive conclusions reached, any way.
We'll never get a Scientologist to answer honestly, of course, but in the few protests I've been in, and in all of the protests that have been audio or video taped, the public has been 100% supportive of the protests with nearly constant beeping of horns in support of the protesters. The exceptions have been cultists leaving parking structures and I don't think that they count as part of the community since they've seperated themselves from "wog" society (and wog laws.)
In the CLearwater, 28/Apr/00 protests (as with most all of the pickets and protests) the cult has sent out followers to harass, assault, video tape, or otherwise photograph the people protesting their leader's abuses.
While they're doing so, they _must_ be aware of the 100% favorable public response to the protests.
How do they justify to themselves the fact that the public -- most certainly in Clearwater -- hate and fear them? Is everyone in the city of Clearwater that aren't cultists or under the pay of the cult part of the world-wide Marcabian conspiracy?
In the 28/Apr/00 protest, Mr. Minton points out that people hold-off showing support for the protests by honking their horns until after the light turns green and they start moving. This is something that we all noticed in the 1998 protest out in front of the Ft. Homicide Hotel. The public response was constant horn honking, "Right ons!" yelled out of windows, and even a "They killed her!" yelled out one window -- when the traffic was flowing. When stopped for lights, citizens of Clearwater feared the racketeering activities of the cult too much to respond until they started rolling again.
Even inside of the Ft. Homicide, cultists must be able to hear the horns of massive public support. One wonders how they manage to justify the claims of their putative "leaders" that Scientologists are well loved the world over in light of the overwhelming public hatred, fear, and mistrust of the cult. Coupled by the audioable public support of protests outside their windows, I'm left wondering how they manage to go on deluding themselves.
And how does the cult's ringleaders justify it?
