That would be Renee Asher Ingram. As far as I am aware, she was not
one of the prostitutes. (Her husband, however, could quite easily be
accused of being a whore.)
The prostitutes were illegal aliens threatened with deportation unless they went along with Gene Ingram's prostitution scheme. Two of them who testified against Ingram were Hernandez and Reyes. On January 29, 1980, Ingram's whorehouse was busted. There was no furniture but a bed and a nightstand, on which were condoms and Vaseline. (Very bad business--everyone knows Vaseline eats condoms.) Ingram's co-conspirators "Rocky" Ward and Grunwald, pled guilty to pimping and pandering. (Ward, I believe, was represented by none other than Melvin Belli.) Ingram's attorney in this mess was Robert Loew.
Ingram had fake Florida plates on his car at the time, a '72 Pantera, registered to the nonexistent "Robert Miller."
Ingram was also busted for tipping off coke dealers to upcoming raids, specifically Rocco and Donna Fascone and Louie Isseglio.
He managed to get away with all this despite Deputy DA Jay Lipman's good footwork.
It is believed Ingram's tactics in winning were Scientology-style--blackmail, perjury and intimidation. Unlike the other defendants, he walked.

The same year or shortly thereafter, he was in Florida, in Pasco County [bordering Pinellas County, home to the city of Clearwater], where he became wanted for impersonating a police officer in a strange matter involving a woman who was questioned about a prositution ring and the sheriff there who was running for reelection. Ingram's name was quickly dropped from the list that police keep of wanted persons for no reason at all other than California might not extradite him to Florida if he was caught there. (This surprised me, I always thought cops were rabid about people who pose as cops) I don't know if he is a registered PI in Florida.
Don't know what happened in Grady's case either, other than I remember the
pictures were returned and there may have been a settlement?

Excuse me? Eugene was fired in 1981 after LAPD investigators learned Eugene was
alerting those in the drug trade of planned raids, and has financial interests
in prostitution.
His wife is allegedly a former participant of that prostitution ring.
