Deborah Layton's book about Jonestown, "Seductive Poison", describes something similar to the RPF, which is called "The learning crew":
====
Ahead of us, I spied a group of young people, some clearly teenagers, running down the Jonestown road. I knew some of them, but they, too, did not look at us as we passed. Then I saw they were being herded like animals by someone in army fatigues who was carrying a rifle, and a chill seeped into my soul.
"What's that about?" I whispered to Shanda.
She patted my arm. "Learning Crew... punishment for not following orders, complaining , or not working fast enough." She spoke close to my ear, the noise of the truck covering her voice. "They are not allowed to speak to us or among themselves. They eat separately, sleep in a special `punishment' dorm, and they must do their work double time... so they run, as you can see, to each worksite and then work it doubletime."

Compare this to the RPF in scientology:
====
RPF members at that time were completely segregated from "normal" staff and slept, lived and often ate in the Fort Harrison garage in the midst of continual exhaust fumes. They were not allowed to talk to, mix with or eat with "normal" staff.
(...)
RPF members had to run all the time. They were not allowed to walk. They had to run while doing their cleaning assignments in bathrooms and toilets, while doing the garbage details or while going up and down the 12 flights of stairs in the Fort Harrison building carrying buckets, brooms and heavy cleaning equipment, and sometimes buckets full of heavy construction material. RPF members were not allowed to use the elevators, not even the service elevator.

Jonestown also had K/Rs:
====
(Shanda speaking:)
"It works like this... Everyone is told they are responsible for reporting on their crewmates. So, if someone writes up an incident and no one else on the crew reports it, all of you will go on the Learning Crew. It's a guarantee that everyone writes everything up at the end of each day."

====
The book mentions scientology a few times. Jim Jones was very afraid that his organization would be raided next:
==== Jim had become increasingly cautious about our conversations being monitored and taped since the FBI had broken into the Scientology offices several months earlier. (Page 90) ... Jim remained apprehensive over the FBI's raid on the Church of Scientology's offices. He expected a raid any day. (Page 98) ====
Jim Jones also knew scientology terms like "fair game":
==== Around this time, Father began making references to other groups such as Synanon, the Unification Church (Moonies), and Scientology. He incorporated their techniques and buzzwords into our vocabulary: "Outsiders can't be trusted," "Peripheral members are dangerous," "Anyone who leaves is fair game". (Page 65) ====
