======================================================================= IN MEMORIAM Last year's conference keynote presentation was "Aum Shinryko, Destroying the World to Save It", delivered by Dr. Robert J.
Lifton. 2000 Conference presenters Flo Conway and Jim Siegleman, authors of Holy Terror and Snapping, and major contributors to the Moore Report, have been issuing warnings for decades of a coming conflagration in the United States to be precipitated by cultists under the influence of mind control or brainwashing. This year's Conference brings together mental health professionals, clergy, sociologists, and others who have studied the dynamics and danger of mind control over the past thirty years. Also attending are former members of totalitarian groups who have experienced first-hand the destructive force of psychological coercion. It has been the long-held belief of this organization that tyranny over the mind, whether sponsored by governments, organizations, or individuals, presents one of the greatest dangers to mankind in this era. We present this conference with the aim of providing both greater understanding of cults and effective methods for combating them.
We now join together in dedicating The Leo J. Ryan Education Foundation's(TM) 2001 National Conference to the victims of the terrorist cult attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001 in New York and Washington, D.C.

His groundbreaking exposes include the first report on the plans of Pat Robertson's Christian Coalition to take control of the Republican Party; the first report on far-right activists calling for the formation of militias; and the first investigation into the alliance between Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church and Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam. He has contributed to many scholarly publications, and he has frequently been cited as an expert by the media, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, National Public Radio and the CBS Evening News, among many others. In addition to workshops for families and friends of cult members, Ms. Bardin facilitates a support group for former members and conducts workshops on destructive groups for mental health professionals. Bardin will present: Coping with Cult Involvement; What Can Families Do?

Reparenting is considered to be a very dangerous procedure and is based in part on fabricated experimental data, and has resulted in at least one death and an indeterminate number of suicides.
