This is the *second* time I might have been the first to stumble upon an update of scientology's "extremists" index.
http://www.religiousfreedomwatch.org/extremists/index.html The latest to be added are Charlotte Kates and Ted Mayett. Each has three pages.
There are now 48 people listed.
Congratulations!

Okay...lovely.
Ummm...LOL! I TOLD the Scientologists that I'd read ARS, xenu.net, etc. I told my local org! I told the SO! I told OSA in DC! I said it on A-J checks!
I mean...this wasn't "discovered." They knew this. It wasn't a secret...and I never visited IRC as "theta" until *February*. After I'd taken my first course. When I did, I unflinchingly *defended* Scientology. I (blushing!) quoted sections of the ethics book on channel! And wouldn't speak to declared people! And they "discovered" this...when I posted to ARS about it :-) Oh, the *conspiracy* of it all! Arnie--didn't talk to him until I was leaving. Even then, he thought I was OSA. How...perfect, somehow.
And then, it's the Return of the Stolen Mailing List. Why, is that the "stolen mailing list" that my lawyer wrote to Ken Moxon about? The one I never heard from Scientology about again (since, oh, 1998)? Since this is not true, and I do not have said mailing list, proof enough being that these people have, I assume, received no entheta-by-mail, they really do need to remove this bit. I don't appreciate being called a thief when I am not, and I do believe this is libelous.
Tom Turrisi? Well, his "daughters", who may or may not have been acting in good faith, or may or may not be actual children, contacted me. And asked me "why I hate their religion." And I *told* them all this about why I am no longer a Scientologist, do not hate Scientology, and why it can be difficult for people to leave, if they choose to. How...hateful. These young women, if they were who they say they were, were teenagers. Of independent mind, and independent body. With serious concerns about their parents' religion, and wanting to know what one of those SPs thought. And so I told them, in the most gentle way, and encouraged them that family is incredibly important, and that in pursuing their own mind, it is important to stay involved with one's family.
For this, Mr. Turrisi, who claims to have found "AIM logs"...which, since AOL (and these were AOL users) does not log, is rather curious, wrote a long and libelous letter, full of false representations about these conversations. It has been posted to ARS before. Mr. Turrisi also sent this false report to the Judicial Affairs department of my university, where it was dismissed. Mr. Turrisi's argument is no more compelling than that of one who accuses a teacher of "being hateful" to Christian beliefs by answering honestly a high-schooler's questions about birth control and sex. The interests of this thinking young person outweigh parental beliefs; if the teen believes in accord with his or her parents, an answer to a question asked cannot and will not change that. It is not hate, merely a separate opinion.
In addition, Mr. Turrisi claims to have contacted the police. Neither any police, nor AOL TOS, nor anyone else, ever spoke to me about this alleged incident. This is a false and libelous description of the events at hand.
In addition, it seems to be my lot recently to be falsely accused of corrupting children with dangerous ideas; our progressive magazine was recently removed from the college center entryway due to the possibility that children might see it. Of course, after some quick student action, it was replaced with apologies.
Really, this whole page is highly concerned with my dangerous ideas. I'm not quite sure why now, especially since ever since coming back to school, I've been so busy with stuff here as to have very little time to engage in critical activity! It's just a curious time for them to restore me to their enemies list, alas.

The pages are current also, some of the entries are after Sep 11th.
Spotted a few grammar errors, some typo's, but no misspelt words. But I only did a quick look at a few of the pages.
They have other errors, for instance Tilman Hausherr may have as many as 6 pages on that site, it could even be more. But they use sloppy code/indexing so it is difficult to find them all. Personally I have no interest in their web errors <smile>. But someone kind enough and with time enough might take the trouble and correct this for them.
Interesting is that the basis for my page is a few posts made by a Security Guard here in Las Vegas. I may have saved them, I hope so.
In essence this security person called me a 'system' gambler, or rather a person who sells 'systems'. This Guard and I had exchanged several e-mails at the time. I was curious if this was a current member pretending to be a security guard. I used language in the e-mails that only someone from Vegas, and working in the casino's would know. The Guard understood the language and so I was convinced that the posts were real and not done by OSA or something.
But still, the monkeys took those few posts and made 3 pages around
them. And for the record, that Guard and I worked things out. I am
not a 'systems player'. There is a term for people like me, and that
term is not called 'systems player'.

The following message was sent this evening to
webmaster@religiousfreedomwatch.org. If anyone has a valid address for this
Scientology front group, please let me know. Thanks.
-charlotte To whom it may concern;
There are numerous false and libelous statements on the page which purports to describe my involvement with and criticism of the Church of Scientology. While most of the page consists of distortions of facts (e.g., the Church "discovered" I was a Communist, and that I had read ARS, when CoS was more than aware of these facts, as I informed CoS myself of them upon my introduction to the organization), there are several statements that are not merely distorted; they are false, and moreover, falsely accuse me of improper conduct in which I did not engage.
Firstly, I did not "infiltrate" the Church of Scientology. I had, and have, no interest in "infiltrating" CoS. This is a false and unproven allegation, with entirely no evidence to back it up. As you are apparently aware (largely through, undoubtedly, my own public discussions on alt.religion.scientology) I chatted with several critics of Scientology on EFNet #scientology while involved with CoS. I did so as "theta", and steadfastly defended CoS, which, while somewhat shameful to me now, appeared to me then to be a way of "fighting suppression" on my own. I quoted L. Ron Hubbard at the channel, and attempted to convince critics of the "error of their ways." I did speak with Keith Henson; however, I do not recall speaking with Arnie Lerma at any time until I was leaving CoS in May 1998.
Therefore, I represented a pro-Scientology position. While CoS' undemocratic nature may prevent it from recognizing the ability of individual expression, I believed I was defending Scientology from false attacks. Indeed, I was familiar with a.r.s. and various critical webpages, which I discussed numerous times with various members of the Church of Scientology, including a number of representatives of the Office of Special Affairs, in Philadelphia and Washington, DC. I also discussed this with recruiters from the Flag Land Base, and with personnel at the Continental Liaison Office in New York City. Therefore, my previous encounters with critical literature were neither secret nor indicative of infiltration.
In addition, I never hid my involvement with the CPUSA, or with Marxism-Leninism, from CoS. I am not ashamed of my political allegiances, and do not intend to deny them. I do, however, contest that CoS "discovered"
this when I wrote it myself on numerous CoS forms, and was publicly involved with the CPUSA for many years.
Therefore, there is no evidence to back up the charge of "infiltration"
made on the page. I did not infiltrate CoS, although some may see it a worthy cause, and I consider the allegation false and possibly damaging.
In addition, at http://www.religiousfreedomwatch.org/extremists/katesc3.html, your author states the following:
"As her prize trophy, she took with her a list of names of Scientology parishioners. "
I took no list of names, and stole no mailing list. Scientology attorney Kendrick Moxon issued me a baseless legal threat in relation to this in June 1998, to which my legal representation responded. Since then, I heard no contact from any Scientology legal representative concerning this false allegation. If CoS Philadelphia is unaware of where my former copy of the Call-In List is, I suggest they ask Ethics Officer Christopher Owens, as he is the person who received it from me. This is an allegation of theft, which is a crime; I did not commit this crime. This is false, and libelous.
Furthermore, that same page quotes from a letter written by Mr. Tony Turrisi. Mr. Turrisi's comments are also false and libelous, and quoting from his letter does not excuse your responsibility in regard to libel. As Mr. Turrisi and yourselves are no doubt aware, the purported minors contacted me over the AOL Instant Messenger service to inquire as to "why I hate their religion," due to my AOL Profile which describes me as an ex-Scientologist. As a free citizen, and not long ago a teen myself, I reserve the right to respond to questions asked of me in a non-profane manner; this is exactly what I did.
There is no proof of the allegation that my "activities were found to involve the spreading of hate propaganda to a 15 year-old girl." Mr.
Turrisi, in the past, claimed to possess a log of this supposed "hate propaganda," despite the fact that AIM does not provide a logging option;
thus, any such log was deliberately saved or is, indeed, a fabrication.
However, there are clearly presented no comments or statements that I am accused of making, due to the fact that they do not support this false and libelous allegation. I have not, in my life, ever "spread hate propaganda;"
this is a false and potentially damaging accusation.
In addition, you quote Mr. Turrisi's libel of me further: "I believe your actions may well be criminal, they certainly strike me as the action of an unbalanced personality." I committed no criminal actions, and do not have an "unbalanced personality;" I have never been a mental health consumer, nor have I ever suffered from mental illness. I have no criminal record. While Mr. Turrisi claims in his letter to have reported these AIM conversations to the local police, and ISP TOS, among others, I have never been contacted in regard to these supposed "criminal actions;" in short, all contacted found this unworthy of concern. In addition, Mr. Turrisi's letter was sent to Rutgers University Judicial Affairs, which dismissed the allegations upon conversing with me. Mr. Turrisi's statements are false and libelous.
I hope to quickly see action taken to resolve the matter of these false and libelous statements.
Sincerely,
Charlotte L. Kates
