Some of the readers here remember that Miscavige went beserk when he discovered years ago that some Flag or LA reg has sold to Steven Fishman a set of audio tapes "leather bound" - for 80000 $.
He refused that such tapes were made, and got one the worst ever suit that scientology ever endured. Scientology chief had ordered Steven Fishman to kill his own psychiatrist, and scientology, says Fishman, had been behind the fraud that led him behind the bars (after having spent all of his money in scn). Fishman has also attested that his wife was murdered (crushed by a car led by two OSA scienos). I dunno if that's true or not, but knowing the Lisa affair and a lot of others, I'd say that this is quite possible.
Well, that was the era of "leather" things.
Were leather pants mode things then?
Now we have the leather e-meter.
On invoice 4065, july 18th 1986, Nicole Sauter (she's now the wife of Jean-Luc Barbier) was debited on her training account of 14323 swiss francs for a "leather E-meter, color: black."
That's more or less 10000 dollars then, 20000 now. 20000 dollars for a meter that should cost no more than 5-600. And whose value is excatly nil.
I'd nevertheless bet that the leather meter would not make lots of money at e-bay.
