The Lisa McPherson Trust opened its doors for the first time on January 6, 2000. We have become a little older and hopefully a little wiser over these past twelve months, and I think we understand much more clearly now what it is we have to do. I am very hopeful about the progress we plan to make in the year 2001.
We are all -- not only the LMT but critics worldwide -- becoming more and more effective as we survive each of Scientology's attacks, and there is no doubt that our OSA adversaries are spending many sleepless nights working out new and ever more malicious ways to hasten our collective demise. But I truly believe that God is on our side, and I know that in the end we will prevail.
Tonight at 6:00 EST Bob Minton, the LMT staff, and some of our friends will uncork some champagne and raise our glasses in a toast to our first year of existence. Please, at the same time, I wish that everyone would say a prayer that the LMT and all the other Scientology critics in the world will be able to withstand the onslaught of evil that this pernicious cult will surely unleash upon us all this coming year.
John Merrett told me something the other day that I took to heart very strongly. He said there is one thing all the Scientology critics all over the world have in common, and Thomas Jefferson said it best:
"I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of
tyranny over the mind of man."
