With the Rolling Stone article, South Park (2 episodes!), tv and radio interviews, and other prominent media coverage lately, we as critics should look back and evaluate how it came to pass that so many have so quickly been reached concerning the bad side of Scientology.

There was a slow and steady foundation laid over the years of useful, accurate information and experience that informed the likes of Trey and Matt and all the others. The web sites, the information from ex-members, the tireless efforts of family members and friends of Scientologists, all these things gradually built up to what one writer calls a "tipping point" where suddenly the information was easily available, accurate, compelling, and of interest to the general public.

So I'd like to thank the brave ex-members and critics who have stood up to Scientology, who spoke out in spite of the Fair Gaming, and who did so honestly and with integrity. It is because of you that we now see millions of people reached with the truth about Scientology.

Also, I think it would be useful to compile some kind of history about the anti-Scientology movement for possible use on the next such cults that come along, and how the critics of those movements can learn from our mistakes and successes.
