BASHAW, GREGORY SHERWOOD
September 28, 1954--June 23, 2001
In memory of a trained journalist, disciplined and hardworking, an honored
writer of substance and creativity and imagination, loved by family and
friends, respected by contemporaries, who in the prime of his life, because of
his needs and naivete trusted wrongly an entity that crushed his sweet and
sharing spirit. He found his journey through life too painful to continue and
was blind and deaf to all of those who loved him. May God bless you Greg, and may

Nothing like this was reported in earlier reports. Not much is known other than this individual went insane on scientology's OT courses and reportedly attempted three times to kill himself. He succeeded on the 4th attempt. His father sought help from the LMT at some point and as he stated in his poignant and bitter IN MEMORIAM, " Who in the prime of life, because of his needs and naivete trusted wrongly an entity that crushed his sweet and sharing spirit. He found his journey through life too painful to continue and was blind and deaf to all those who loved him. "

Comment: (This In Memoriam notice has run daily in the Chicago Tribune since June 23. It is a paid notice by his father. There was a regular Death Notice also in the 23rd Obituary section. Greg Bashaw was a Chicago area Scientologist who committed suicide on June 23, 2001. He had been a creative director at the Leo Burnett and Foote, Cone and Belding advertising agencies.)
